Usually my son jumping on the bed shouting get up mum its nearly 730 !

Useually the need to urinate more recently the sound of drilling, and large sledge and lump hammers knocking down walls gets me out of bed, also the noise of my lodgers alarm/radio, which highlights the fact he'l soon be getting a shower, tends to alert me to the benifit of getting into the bathroom for a pee whilst I have a chance, and to allow me time to brush my teeth before making coffee and tea.

Mostly the fact that I will get shouted at if I dont get up with more than 15 mins to go until we leave the house for school.

I used to have a really good alrm on my phone and I would set it at the other side of the room, that gets you out of bed fast enough. But now by phone has a crap alarm which you have to set every day you want it to sound, my old one you could set it to sound every weekday at x:xx and it would just do it.

I have that phone now i also have a really good alarm clock

I don't have a timetable anymore, so it's usually the smell of bacon being cooked by my flatmate.

Cigarettes!!!! Horrible, I know - but, together with the the first fag of the day is when the morning starts properly.

Sad as sad can be - the knowledge that every minute I stay in bed adds another ten minutes to the BL***DY drive round the M25 and M4 and Kew Bridge and..... on and on...

I'm trying to figure out a way to turn the slow crawl into the office into a kind of meditative experience - in theory it should be an ideal place - but in practice it is quite a frustrating experience. I guess I just need to work at it more... Keep an eye out for the next bestseller; Zen and the Art of Commuting.

A few years ago, I read a biography of Thomas More; reassuring to see that even several centuries ago dragging the old carcase out of the pit was a challenge; one of his resolutions, in addition to wearing a hair shirt, was to "Rise on Waking". Lucky him - I can't even manage to Wake on Rising....

Highlighting once again that getting something just because it's new-when the old device is still working perfectly-only makes things worse.

Generally I can't stay in bed that long after waking. If I get to wake of my own accord, I get up within a minute or two, just because. I can't lie in unless I have a book to read or something. However, if my alarm goes off and I *have* to get up.... goodness knows. Simply the knowledge that I have to be somewhere else gets me going.

My boyfriend During the week I'm never that keen on getting out of bed, so he makes me a and places it just out of arms reach. At the weekend I'm up at first light (things to do, places to go) while he's usually a bit keen for a long lie

Hifi at 07:30 with Classic Fm, and clock/alarm with a buzzer,. followed by radio in bathroom with Classic Fm. Can never have too many alarms.

You people get out of bed in a morning????????

Actually, one thing that is guaranteed to get me out of bed in the morning is a full bladder.

So I keep one on the bedside table.
