I am a self confesed internet/computer dunce. However I have an argument going on with my ex over broadband. He says that the AOL broadband account we have at..lets say house A, can be used at house B which is 12 miles away and has a different phone line and number. So we use the same account on 2 lines in 2 houses.
I say you cant 'cause its a different number, so you have to open a seperate broad band account.
dear hootooers, who is right??

Traveller in Time on his head
"I am afraid you are right.
As you say 'two lines' that is the problem, only if the houses uses an 'illegal' phone tap with the same number and line there is a chance both could share a (bad) broadband connection.
The DSL is attached to the actual line going to your house from the local telephone exchange.
If you are lucky they may be able to transfer the same account from one house to the other but most probably you will get 'another' account. Even in the local telephone exchange the actual connection (IP number) is physical, and the chances are you will get another line on switching over.
The broadband connection over the telephone line is a one on one, you can only attach one modem in your house to talk with the modem in the exchange. "

That is actuall an interesting question, as me and the other half will soon be living in separate accommodation, whereas at the moment we share one internet account.
Though we won't be able to use the same account from different addresses, will I still be able to get the email from that account through my Outlook when I'm living at a different address. I will still have access to the internet, though it will be through somebody else' service provider.
