h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Nobody reads prefaces... we should publish this thread as chapter 3.5 of the book.

Well, and pardon me if someone else already suggested it, and I'm too sleepy to notice, but they could just put a link to this forum as a title, and explain it in the non-readable preface. How about that? Meanwhile, how much of a percentage should we all ask TDV for? Also, how should it be written? They could write the first paragraph, and then write the author's name by it, then the second with that author's name by it, and so forth. How about that?

The percentage thing's a bit messy... if we decide that each researcher will get a certain percentage then everyone who finds out about it will post something just to get a few cents - maybe we should donate the money to those mountain gorillas or something. I like the idea of having each paragraph with the author's name by it, like it is in the forum... to keep the character of the story we need it to be obvious where one person stopped and another began, and it's also amusing to see which people are obsessed with liver-eating and which with mauve weasels.

You're right. We need to keep the percentage thing a big, big, *BIG* secret! Let's limit it to, "Everyone who has posted before" a certain date, or before a certain chapter. How about that? Okay, fine, no money for us. We could donate it to the gorilla's, or we could donate it to the development of h2g2, or something. I like the gorilla idea much better, but something tells me that if we decide to donate, that TDV would get a larger cut. Although, Douglas Adams owns TDV, and he likes the gorillas. Someone else say something to give my own mind a chance to oil its hinges! Now!
