MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship. Started conversation Nov 1, 2003
Hi, I'm a Scorp, and I wondered how many others are? Do you believe in Horoscopes? ( Yes, I know there is an astrological string, but this isn't directly related.) and are other Star-signs equally matched, or is it Skewed.
So far I have noticed the following are fellow Scorps.
Owlatron.
Existential Elevator.
The 'Mazin' MadFiddler.
Woodpigeon.
Beguiled Mortal.
I am curious as to whether the HooToos and their star-signs are equally split, or do certain types become HooToos, while others show little/no interest?

Somewhere on Hooto is a star sign survey, but I'm blowed if I can find it!
I'll have another look...........

Well, that is interesting. Thank-you. Aquarius is the most common sign @ 26, with Scorp. 2nd, and Gemini 3rd. The least are Leo at 3, 2nd is Pisces at 9 and Sagittarius at 3rd. Strangely Aries, Taurus, Libra and Capricorn all match at 16, with Virgo at 15. Add Cancer @ 19, then half are about the same in total, with a large disparity between max and min. Must go and study this now. Thanks for your help.
Anyone looking in, if you are not on the list please add yourself.
Once again Thanks.

That survey only includes a small part of the community so far doesn't it? Maybe Aquarians are just more likely to fill in forms!

That is a good thought. How can we inspire others to see if there is a particular star sign, or element that is more likely to be a HooToo-er, if they haven't signed up yet, and don't know where to go?
Any ideas?

I don't believe in Astrology and have no intention of telling you what 'sign' I am. But I don't mind telling you my birthday: 23-Apr. Officially that makes me a Taurus, although this is merely because of the gross inaccuracy of the Astrology charts. The sun was nowhere near Taurus when I was born.
If you want to do a survey, you'd be better phrasing it as a birthday survey.

I expect that if star signs do have a noticeable effect then its probably less to do with the stars and more to do with the time of year you were born.
Who knows?

This has been discussed *many* times before, on many other threads, but i will say here that i am personally *more* than 100% convinced that the (extremely remote)stars and planets can have absolutely *no* influence on us puny humans, however it is perfectly reasonable to surmise (as Bouncey said) that the time of year you are born could influence your personality in some way.
Just one seasonal effect i can think of would be that a pregnant woman(or anyone) will have different chemicals/hormones in their blood during the summer months (with all that sunlight creating loads of vitman D for example), than in winter. I expect that this could perhaps explain why lots of people born in the same season might have similar personality traits.
On the other hand, i think i'm correct in saying that there have been as many studies that show no evidence for people of a certain star sign having significant similarities to each other, as studies showing that they do Just depends which study you believe i suppose.
At any rate the horoscope rubbish printed in the tabloids or the womans magazines, (usually written by the tempt student on a work experience posting) is purely for entertainment, and anyone who takes anything they read in these columns seriously needs their head examined

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Nov 3, 2003
I was born undr guiness, with Island of Dura rising, in a northen thing with a basket of woolen underpants drying on the second moon of a third star in a transdimensional pancake establishment in the southerm hemasphere, breckfast that day was egg, (two fried), bacon ((four grilled) sausage (four fried), mushroom (lots fried), beans (heated in pan), fried bread 9(fried), black pudding (fried), potato wedges (fried), with a black coffee, which makes me a scorpio and a total disbeliever in the thing that the colour of one's belly button fluff on the forth da of 'alagantisus 3.971) can make a difference to a individuals total dispersion to the alamantriaschine disequalibrieum of the total number of atoms (divided by belly button fluff volume in GM2) in the eternal su n of the dust created by the great evil one

Yep the hororscopes printed in the papers are complete rubbish. Not everyone born in the same month is going to have exactly the same life, future etc..thats ridiculous.
Full birthcharts however seem to be a little more accurate to say the least. How this works I don't know as it does seem impossible for the stars, planets etc to have any influence on us at all, but it does seem to!
Perhaps it was originally a way of working out what certain environmental conditions that could affect someones personality (as it was said through blood chemcals etc)
were around at the time of their birth? Who knows!

If people's character is influenced by the time of year at which they were born, then there should be marked differences between Southern Hemisphere people and Northern Hemisphere people. They should be 6 months out. So if you're gathering data, try and find out where the people come from.
