Don't tune in to EE very much - now I know why.
What has happened to the accent of the already very annoying Vikki ? Has she been told to tone down her American accent ?
And Sharon - she jumps from being posh to east end sometimes in the same sentence. And the brother Dennis - he'd never win an acting award...

Not tempted to tune in this week for the return of Dirty Den?
I think the girl who plays Vikki is having problems keeping up the pseudo American accent - she was on something else last night and is 'very' English in reality.

I enjoyed the Dirty Den days in the 80s, but since then the soap has churned out dirge and more dirge and I won't be tuning in.
It's always funny to see characters from the soap in real life. They are often very well spoken (Anita Dobson, Pam St Clement, Todd Carty for example) and it almost seems like they are faking their poshe accents. Interestingly, the reverse is probably true.

Ive devised a method to simulate an episode of Eastenders so that I'll never have to watch another episode.
It's very simple, just adopt a phony, husky, cockney accent and say repeatedly "I ain't got time to mack abaat, wot is it you want".
Simple

And don't forget all emotional traumas require the obligatory cuppa tea.

I sort of assumed she was British. Doesn't sound like she's ever been near US with such a confused accent.
Yes I think I'll be watching Den. All the accents will be even more confused when he turns up.

Glad someone else noticed the accent thing.I was saying that exact thing about Vikki and Sharon to someone the other night. And I also think that Vikki is so annoying.
But not quite as annoying as Martin and Pauline. They just do my head in altogether. And the sudden state of mind of Nana Moon. One day she was fine and the next she didnt know who she was.
As for Den coming back it seems like the script writers have just run out of storylines for the current cast.Think we will see Angie rising from the dead soon and Ethel walking through the market with her little Willie.
And one last thing...Shaane Richie won an award for sexiest male in soap...WHY??????

I don't watch very often but I did live in the East End for a bit, East Ham if you want to be precise. I watched an episode wher Phil was talking to Kathy and in one sentence he went from Kaff to Kath and then back again. By the way, if Eastenders is trying to be realistic isn't it a bit short of Asians. Where I lived next door was a shop that had been converted into a Mosque. In the mythical E8 you're more likely to have your roots in Bangladesh than Bow.

Maybe thats why they fetched the newest family into it.
But i think it still falls way way short of realism.

But Walford is E20 - the nearest "E number" to that in East London is E18 which is quite posh (I woz born there) so I think they might be a bit confused.
As for Vicki - would someone please throw her in the canal!
Perry Fenwick (Billeee) must be sick of reading his script - all it seems to have on it is " can I 'ave a word" or "I need to talk to you" to which the answer always seems to be "Not now Billy" Poor sod.
Looking forward to the incredulity that is Dirty Den coming back. Wonder if he'll bring flowers? Daffs perhaps?

And one more thing...Where is Lisa getting all her money from to hire a hitman and stuff? And why does noone on the square have a job apart from on the market.
Maybe the Walford jobcentre is closed.
