h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

i know the h2g2 statistics say 14000 people have signed up since 1999, but how many of them actually use h2g2, since lots of people sign up and get bored and leave

I have three or four numbers as I use them, or create new ones, for role playing, such as for the pantomime in Lil's Atelier.

On the contrary my marauding friend. The very fact of your posting has once again raised the question to the top of the Ask h2g2 Forum saving it from obscurity in the backlog.

Now that is is present and visible again, I'm sure many will find time to offer a guesstimate.

I still think it's going to be very difficult to answer this question.

Right now it seems easier to count how many people are using this thread ... but how to extrapolate to the whole site I've no idea.

What exactly counts as 'use'? Is a person 'using' this site if s/he only comes on once every seven months or so, but does this regularly?

And what about users of 360 and so on?

Interesting to note that the last person to post on this thread, thirteen years ago, is online even as I'm typing this...
