The most favourite war protest of mine is "Give Peace a chance". The first time I heard it was in 1969 when I was 6 years of age. Even at 6 I knew about the consequences of war.
Have a coffee morning instead of fighting.
Settle all conflicts and disputes by telling Richard Whitely jokes to each other!

Dr E: "make tea not love"?!
Wasn't it "make tea not war"?
how about "make love not tea"? Or "make love AND tea - but not at the same time"...?

This ones for the really bitter and hopeless members of the crowd:
"f**k off you idiots; you're going to kill us all!"
But, it really does get to the point.

Simple and to the point: "BUSH U T**T"
Accompanied by nice (drawn!) pic: "The only bush I trust is my own"
Made me giggle: "LEGALISE (oops, wrong demo)"
Was really good fun!

I saw one great cartoon of Tony with on his knees in front of Bush, with Bush unzipping his fly and a missile protuding from it. The slogan was, 'Noddy would submit to treatment other world leaders wouldn't take!.'
I saw a tramp near the start of the march carrying in piece of card with 'Blaire's (sic) a c**t'. He got a huge amount of attention...
The one phrase which moved me, especially at the end of Red Ken's speech was,
'Not in our name.'

My favorite was from the protest that happened in DC a number of months ago - "For Sale: US Congress". That one had me laughing till I cried.
