The simple pleasures in life
Phil Posted Feb 11, 2003
watching the sea
listening to rainfall
seeing a thunderstorm
watching rivers flow by
seeing a really good gig
hearing a really good piece of music
looking at a star filled sky
kicking through piles of leaves in autumn
catching up with old friends
seeing my gf smile at me
realising she likes me just for being me

I swear, the clouds in heaven must be made of clean baby skin...*sighs happily*
And the sky above would be the color of Njan's eyes...

using my voice as valve: singing the song that comes first into my head before all the happiness inside me is too much.
looking on other people's reaction on that (everytime surprisingly positive. but maybe, when you are in this mood, you wouldn't recognize anything bad anyway )
simply sharing this happiness and energy... everyone who wants to get in touch with it will benefit.
*enjoy*

Sitting at my quilt frame , looking out my living room window at 7:00Am and watching the Ice Devils dance accross the vast lake in front of me while the sun is coming up. Now that's peaceful !

"Ice Devils" is a Canadian (I believe) term steeped in Folklore refferring to dense mist (not fog) which reaches upwards upon a body of water- in irregular shapes- caused when the water is warmer than the air. It's hard to explain but try to visualize almost ghost-like shapes dancing across the horizon and the actual waterline disappears along with the horizon creating a sort of visual one might see when flying just above a cloud line. Phew! that was tough. This is a time when a picture definately "says a thousand words" The temp. outside, definately has to be VERY cold.

Standing in a warm wind among trees near a lake, listening to the wind coursing over the water and rustling in the leaves of the trees.
Hearing the sound of children at play drifting gently across a sunlit day. Gently, I said, none of this aggressive screaming nonsense.
Walking while snow is falling.
Chocolate, straight from the fridge.
Cold milk.
Music which reaches into your soul and does things to it.
Hearing the laughter of the Goddess when I do something stupid.

Deciding to take a break from computer, TV, radio, watches, clocks... taking the sofa cushions and putting them on the floor instead, no lamps, just candle ligt, some soft music playing in the background to shut out the noises from neighbouring flats, some snacks, a couple of and spending the entire afternoon and evening reading an Agatha Christie book in English (not often I come across one I haven't read before, I found this one in the local library) - soooo relaxing...
