kind man

hi

me n my gf hav been having a discussion on n off for a while now about breast sizes. im not gonna say wot size she is but she seems to think that a size 32c is exactly the same size breast as as 38c. i find this very hard to believe. wen iv been in underwear shops to buy things for my gf the size she is looks totally different to another size. i said if u actually cut off the breast off a woman who has 38c size bra compared to a 32c size bra the 38c one wud be heavier and bigger in size. she thinks i am wrong and theyre exactly the saem. wud sumone pls tell me if im rite or not? and if poss come up with factual info cus if im rite i want to tell her about it! i just cant see how they can be possibly the same size but she says all men think that! i dont know!

Bigger number will mean bigger around in general (boobless measure almost)The letter refers to cup size, the actual cup filled.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

Your writing style is a little hard to follow kind man, but I think I get the gist of what you're asking.

Your girlfriend is pretty much right - leastways, according to Mrs Gosho. A 'C' cup breast remains the same size whatever the bust measurement is in inches. Cup size is the measurement the bra manufacturers use to make their product fit each size of breast, and it therefore has to be consistent.

Imagine it this way (and don't quote me on the figures) - Roseanne may have DD cup breasts and a bust measurement of 50". Dolly Parton on the other hand may only have a bust measurement of 40" but she's still a DD cup. One of Roseanne's breasts would be the same size as one of Dolly Parton's if you cut them off (no, please God no) and stood them side by side on a flat surface.

The 32/38 bit in the bust measurement is the distance in inches around the woman's body. The bigger she is the more inches. The cup size of the breast is... well, a way of measuring how big the breast is, and a C cup will still be a C cup no matter how many inches the tape shows.

And my boss's philosophy on breasts? Anything bigger than a handful is waste smiley - biggrin

But what's a C cup to some companies just isn't a C to others. Nor is a DD nor an E or anything of that sort. It's bloody ludicrous.

I can understand that alternative makes/styles are a variety of shapes - two C cups may be the same volume but different shape (imagine melting boobs down & poured into moulds!!) - but it is annoying that sizes are not 'transferable'. Trying bras on to get a good fit & appearance is an extremely tedious process.

I bet alot of men would volunteer to be bra fitters, and take all that tediousness away for you. smiley - silly

Actually...

The truth of the matter is that for every number size you go up, the cup also is larger. If you don't believe me, compare the cups on two different bras - a 32C should be the same as a 34B, and the 32D should be the same as a 36C, etc.

But no two pairs of breasts are the same...as everyone should know!!!

And not every pair is symmetrical!

I read that no pair is entirely symmetrical.
I want to re-test that theory.
So if all you ladies would line up and remove your clothing......smiley - silly

Thinking about the measuring technique, the nominal cup size being determined by the difference between chest immediately below boobs and max. circumference, it is immediately apparent that this can give rise to problems. A boob with large base but not much projection will measure the same as small base but large projection - but each requiring a different fit. Still, I suppose it's at least a strating point smiley - laugh

Re : symmetry. I'm naturally heavier on the right side of my body...anyone else get paranoid that it is a noticeable difference?

Always glad to see another smiley - titsmiley - tit thread.

Lady Scott is right, the cups do actually get bigger as you go up the back sizes, for example a 34 C is smaller in the cup than a 36 C. I've shrunk recently so my back size is smaller, my old bras are too big in the cup too now but if I go down a back *and* cup size the cups are too small. It is a complicated business this... smiley - winkeye

Do you think the symmetry thing is related to right/left-handedness?

Post 19

Saturnine

Oh yep. Definitely. I fit a 36/38D-DD...but I overspill a 34D...and it is VERY uncomfortable. I have no idea how people can wear the wrong size bra! smiley - yikes

Sorry about that Saturnine.
I get very frisky around Christmas time, it's all the excitement in the air.
