A Conversation for Ask h2g2
So why do you think that an ad for h2g2 appeared after the screening of Stargate tonight on BBC1?
Mina Posted Aug 25, 2002
It was mentioned to us by Natalie, and even the week that it was going to happen, but to be honest I don't watch a lot of TV, so it's unlikely I wil l see it.
I offered my picture to advertise it, but strangely they weren't interested.

Hmm - I notuice that shortly after Stargate, they repeeated 'It's only TV...', the hi-i-ilarious gameshow. Perhaps, Mina, they were worried people would become confused between your picture and the contestents:
- The Krankies?
- Phil Jupitus?
- The pretty one out of the Nolans?

Last in the series
Phil Jupitus (who lives down my road): "I say fandabidozie when I ejaculate."
Pretty one from the Nolans: "No you don't"
very funny.

I have to agree with eyethink_eyethink. It was very strange to see it on telly!
It gave me butterflies. I felt very exposed.

They've started doing it after Star Trek too.

In defence of Phil Jupitus (and in deference to the fact that this thread is being repeated on F19585?thread=204855)
The man does an excellent stand up, very Izzard-influenced, and is quite the funniest man I have ever met on the subject of pop music or Star Wars.

You mean TOS - shown on a Sunday?
I think that h2g2 is firmly entrenched as being part of the Beeb now then!

Oops sorry - simulpost!
I agree about Phil J - did you ever see him on that Channel 4 sci-fi quiz? Brilliant

I don't care, I've subscribed to both
The only Channel 4 Sci-Fi quiz I can think of is that lame one with Craig Charles and Greg Proops, and that certainly wasn't funny. But, then again, I'm not a very good .

In reply to a much earlier thread about who is first against the wall, can I just say that my socialist friends, and my female friends have ALL agreed that whichever revolution reaches fruition earliest I can be first against the wall.
Incidently my 4 teenage daughters are all Stargate maniacs, but due to working shifts I rarely see a complete episode.

It appeared after Voyager too!

Can't get anything but BBC1 and 2 here in Holland so don't get to see the Stargate series anyway.
I wonder if that trail about Cyborgs means that they are bringing back Doctor Who to replace Star Trek Voyager on a Tuesday early evening?
I will certainly keep a close eye out at the end of STtNG this evening
I wonder what inventive link they'll come up with for h2g2 this time - if at all!

Actually it went along the lines of 'From Star Trek to Tripods, Dr Who to the Mysterons - YOU decide what goes into the Guide! Why not log on to www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2 and have your say.'
Then they showed this page: A786486

Never mind Peet. My 10 year old tells me they showed it after Buffy just now, so you should be able to relate to the latest batch.

"Can vampires be glamorous....h2g2, you decide what goes into the Guide"
Again, a trail written by someone who hasn't seen the editorial guidelines...
