If you were going to remake h2g2 as a TV series/movie - what would you do with it?
Who would you cast and as whom? Would you stick with any of the original cast, or maybe just give them the odd walk-on cameo?
Would you rely on computer generated imagery for any effects, or would Zaphod's other head look pretty much lifeless?
I'd be interested to know what you all think.

I can't help wanting Humphrey Lyttelton (Jazz Trumpeter, and Chairman of I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue) as the voice of the Book.
He seems to have the right sort of gentle, comedy voice.

Would he fit inside the costume?
Anyway - I think Jack Dee would make a better Marvin.

How about Graham Norton as Arthur, Boy George as Ford, Dale Winton as Zaphod, Debra Messing as Trillian, Jerry Springer as the host at Milliways and Julian Clary as "The Book"... It could open it to a whole new audience...

...also, i doubt if the chap who played the part of Ford Prefect
could have found his way to the A1 in real life...he was most dissappointing, fluffing all his good lines.
The original RADIO cast were far superior to the FILM cast, even though it was mostly the same people.
(Ken Campbell being the exception to the above generalisation)

...just realised that Ken was ALSO in the radio series.
Er...whilst we're here, did anyone else see his production of
the guide at the ICA on Pall Mall ??
Must have been in the later seventies (last century)

I was thinking maybe Rik Mayall for the role of Zaphod, or at least for the role of one of Zaphod's heads at any rate.
I suppose, with our wonderful computer assisted special effects, it would be possible to have each head played by a different actor.
