Two Bit Trigger Pumping Moron

I tried to go through line by line. Overall, I noticed a lot of things seemed to match, but there were some things that seemed to be missing and some things that were completely off base.

It's an interesting way to look at yourself, but I don't think it's accurate.

Here's a sentence by sentence response.

You are serious about everything you do and are motivated by your need for security, making sure that nothing threatens your family, income or possessions.

True to an extent.

You are a defender of the traditional values such as honesty, hard work and responsible behavior.

True

You need to be under some sort of stress before you feel comfortable and that's because you thrive on hard work where you can show off your abilities in getting things done under difficult circumstances.

I don't like stress. I need to be under stress to do anything because I'm a procrastinator.

You are also good at carrying emotional burdens without whimpering.

I'm not that good at it, but I don't show emotion so I don't whimper.

You don't go out of your way to change the world around you.

True, I take the world on its terms unless it's something that strikes my sense of humor or something I'm passionate about.

Instead, you bide your time and wait for the right moment to try to improve matters, avoiding confrontations wherever possible.

Truish. My first insitnct is to say this is false, but I will be patient and try to improve things based on my positional authority. I am generally very non-confrontational without legal authority to act.

However, if pressed, you can assert yourself with suprising vigor. You get your strength from the faith in your beliefs, and from your determination to endure any difficulty if it will help you achieve your goals in life.

I'm a little vague on that.

Your enthusiasm is tempered by practicality and your logic is tempered by emotion.

I would rephrase that: I'm enthusiastic, but it's tempered by low expectations of everything. I use logic to support my opijnons that are actually based on emotion.

Planning a vacation can make you very exited but you can cancel it without remorse if it becomes necessery to do so.

True

You think things out carefully before coming to a decision though sometimes you can be impulsive.

I carefully analyze choices, but I generally act on an informed impulse.

You live your life in the here and now, unconcerned by memories of the past or warnings of the future.

Totally false. I'm very focused on the past and future. You'll rarely find someone who is more nostalgic than I. Planning for the future is a hobby of mine. I constantly think about future career plans and I change those plans daily. Applying for jobs is a hobby.

Friends consider you conservative, others may say you are obstinate.
In either case, you resist change untill you can see it makes sense (based on practical considerations).

I am considered conservative. I don't know about obsinate. I guess everyone here would say so, but in real life I'm very flexible.

You take care of your body and personal surroundings.

Not true at all. I'm a somewhat overwieght and a slob by nature. I almost never go to see a doctor, even though there are some things that need work. Occasionally, I'll muster up some energy to take care of either.

You approach life with high hopes because of your deep sense of self-worth (in spite of some occasional setbacks).

Not true. I generally have high hopes, but not for those reasons.

Two Bit, I'm not suprised that only part of it fits. I used the right date but the wrong time. You can see the chart here

and I will post the files as soon as I can. BTW you will have to join to see the chart.

Not everything changes, most of the planets are in the same signs but the signs are not in the right place.

I have gone through the very detailed natal chart that you created for me, Alji, and I consulted the Admiral for clarification. I've posted a point by point response on A707528 where the chart is. I have tried to be totally honest. There are a few h2g2 researchers who have met me IRL, but nobody who posts regularly knows me really well, so second opinions may be hard to come by. Geoff, who started this challenge (which nobody took up for him smiley - erm ), has met me a few times, but I don't know if he'll feel qualified to comment.

I'd like to thank you Alji, not only for putting in the graft to create the chart, but for showing the courage of your convictions. Lots of people claim all kinds of abilities but are reluctant to expose them to scrutiny.

To summarise, I felt it was a bit of a parson's egg - some of the predictions were spot on target, others were way off. Are they better than might have resulted from random comments? I don't know - I still have an open mind, but I'm not convinced. I feel the same way as Two Bit earlier on - it's an interesting way to look at yourself but not accurate.

Ok - I am going to throw in a wild-card and respond to Two Bit's chart as if it were mine. This should help us get a feeling of how much the words turn out to be applicable to anyone.

Ben

************

You are serious about everything you do and are motivated by your need for security, making sure that nothing threatens your family, income or possessions.

Not at all. Life is way too important to take it seriously. I take significant social and risks; and consider them emotionally (does this feel right?) rather than logically. When I have made a call, I take the consequences.

You are a defender of the traditional values such as honesty, hard work and responsible behavior.

These are all my baseline values, but I don't evangelise or defend them agressively - live and let live.

You need to be under some sort of stress before you feel comfortable and that's because you thrive on hard work where you can show off your abilities in getting things done under difficult circumstances.

Oh yes.

You are also good at carrying emotional burdens without whimpering.

Yep.

You don't go out of your way to change the world around you.

Absolutely. I prefer to live in the world as it is, and either adapt or change location. Why take on City Hall, when it is so much easier to move house?

Instead, you bide your time and wait for the right moment to try to improve matters, avoiding confrontations wherever possible.

I am not really that bothered about improving matters. I am not at all afraid of confrontations, but I don't seek them out. I am not naturally good at biding my time, but it is something I have learned to do.

However, if pressed, you can assert yourself with suprising vigor.

Absolutely.

You get your strength from the faith in your beliefs, and from your determination to endure any difficulty if it will help you achieve your goals in life.

I get my strenght from my strength.

Your enthusiasm is tempered by practicality and your logic is tempered by emotion.

Hmmm. My enthusiasm can wane pretty quickly, I am get bored easily which makes me a born dilletante; I would say that my emotion is tempered by logic. I enjoy both.

Planning a vacation can make you very exited but you can cancel it without remorse if it becomes necessery to do so.

What's a vacation? I am not interested in planning vacations at all; much preferring to go with the flow and happenstance of someone else's planning. I hate cancelling out of a commitment, and am always careful to apologise and manage expectations if I do so.

You think things out carefully before coming to a decision though sometimes you can be impulsive.

I like to have considered all of the options - however briefly - before taking a major decision like buying a property. But for minor decisions - like buying a washing machine - I will work out my criteria, and buy the first thing that fits. This means I can buy things apparently very quickly indeed, however I tend not to impulse buy - I find it an expensive way of being disappointed. Interesting that all my decisions seem to be buying-ones at the moment. I assume the same is true of other decisions. Again - I will often decide to do something which will put me under pressure, or which appears to be a risk.

You live your life in the here and now, unconcerned by memories of the past or warnings of the future.

The past and the future are important to me. I live more in the here and now than I used to. I certainly grab life with both hands, and never turn down an invitation.

Friends consider you conservative, others may say you are obstinate.

Conservative? Hmm, I am not very driven by others' values or opinions. Obstinate? I think I can be persuaded by good arguments. I have NO idea what my friends think of me.

In either case, you resist change untill you can see it makes sense (based on practical considerations).

Change - I love it. I need an anchor, but given that I can handle a significant amount of uncertainty and a significant amount of change.

You take care of your body and personal surroundings.

Ish - I am very healthy, but very unfit. I eat well, take supplements and vitamins, and tick 'No' in all the 'Have you ever had...?' boxes in insurance forms. However I am overweight, and will let a bus go rather than run to catch it.

Personal surroundings? Similar thing - I have an amazing tollerance for dirt, but I prefer things to be tidy. I do prefer them to be clean too, but tidy is more important to me than clean.

You approach life with high hopes because of your deep sense of self-worth (in spite of some occasional setbacks).

Sure.

**************

So - to what extent is this an overlap? It seems reasonably accurate to me, slightly less-so than Two-Bit's response, but close enough. And of course it is NOT my chart at all.

What do the rest of you think?

Aljiis, I am sorry to play fast and loose with what you have said to Two Bit, but to my way of thinking the test is not 'how closely does what is said about you match your character' but 'how much does what is said about someone else NOT match your character'?

I guess I have worked too much with non-specific language patterns in the past, and I tend to prod things to see what happens ...

Captain, I'm sure "parson's egg" was deliberate, but for those unfamiliar with the idea, the 'parson's nose' is the a**e/tail of a chicken, and a 'curate's egg' is one which is only good in parts.

Have you read your own agcBen? When you read through it give each paragraph a % rating i.e. 0% for totally off the mark to 100% for 'You've hit the nail on the head'. Make a running total and divide by the number of paragraphs. BTW do you know your Ex's data.

Hey, my ex is history - I know date and place but not time, and as I said I'm not that interested. He is a Pisces, and getting more 'typical' as he gets older. I am Aries. We were steamy for a while, and then my fires were quenced.

I'll check out what you have said about me.

Thanks

Hi Aljiis - you are ahead of me, I had not realised that you had put the work in.

Unfortunately for whatever reason I cannot read the MS Word Doc? Can you either post it as an earlier version of Word or as a text file?

Thanks

What don't you understand? I couldn't read the description of me that Aljiis has posted at Yahoo because I am running an older version of Word than he is, and I have asked him to re-post it in a different format.

Is that what confused you, or was it something else, Two Bit?

The Word Doc file is just data but I'll convert it to text. The time does not matter for your ex, I just want to do a compatability check.

Blimey!

I have got it and read it. At first impression it is about 80% accurate with the remaining 20% being either inaccurate or self-contradictory.

But I can see where the internal contradictions come from, because you are looking at so very many different relationships between the different planets. Presumably it is a many to many relationship, with each planet's relationship with every other planet putting a different twist on things.

I am seriously impressed. I am going to go through it in more detail, and mark it up for agree, disagree, and neutral. I will let you all know the results, but I probably wont do it till the week of April 15th or so.

Thanks Aljiis.

As I said - I am impressed.

Ben
