Come on guys. The Beebs lawyers could tell you that this fits within the fair use policy of Title 17, United States Code, which describes US Copyrighted material. Could you put the lyrics back now please.

Ah, but the BBC are in the UK... and law always gets tricky on an international level.

I thought most of the lyrics were on this thread already.

The joke is Alien Tourist lifted that whole Disclaimer.
It is 'patently' obvious that it is someone else's copywritten material. He's pinched it! Plagiarised it!
He knows it, and he's having a right laugh at the Mods for not knowing the diff between outright plagiarisation and the rules of general conversational usage concerning popular culture.
Any pop tune that makes the top 10 is considered fair game to be spoken, written or sung in part or whole in a non-profit motivated way. It can even be referenced for satirical or review purposes by professional writers or comedians who 'profit' from it.
So unless we recorded it and released our own version for sale, quoting a well known copywritten song (even without acknowledging the composers) is not a crime. Stealing some nameless lawyer's finely honed Disclaimer is.

So now what? Have the mods been in conference since John's last post? Do they actually read what is said? I suspect that they get their posts in higgledy piggledy order. So whoever got that last one, which reveals that a previous post is copyright infringement, can't access the post that is actually proved against the rules. He would have to enter as a researcher and hit the "Yikes" button - provided he can find the post in the first place!
The system is its own enemy
