i put an add in the local paper and am talking to two nice guys. i have felt the pull to "bad" guys so i know for me nice could mean boring and "bad" ends up being chaotic. I'm giving up "bad" guys for my own sanity. And am looking forwards to my perception being changed nice will now mean exciting and not boring. Its all in the mind i'm worthy of "nice/exciting" now.

The 'nice friendly guys' was a quote from Corinth's thread; but having said that, I only ever went with one guy who wasn't a good guy. And he wasn't a dashing dare-devil b*****d, either. But he did f**k with my mind. So that denfinitely puts him in the bad-guy class.

Apart from that I have always chosen the good guys, and I am a good picker. I LIKE good guys - they treat me well, don't mess with me or with my brain, tell me the truth, respect me before and after, and are funny and kind. They are human, so they all have their failings. (See how I don't make a cheap feminist jibe here).

Hell - I had a phonecall from the man I married this morning, and he was giving me good advice about some of the s***tier aspects of my real life just now. He put up with me sniffling on the phone, made me laugh, and made me feel much better. Spending almost an hour on an international call to cheer up a weepy and feeble ex-wife counts as being 'nice and friendly' in my book. We are between decree nisi and decree absolute at the moment.

But I´m a sad shy frog, and the thing I hate most is when a girl feels sorry for me. So my suggestion is don´t do it. Go for the prince inside instead.

All women go for alpha males, not just alpha females. They all are attracted by money, power and popularity. They haven´t gotten rid of those primate tendencies yet. They´re not yet at the stage where we men are, where we... just go for the looks

In any case, people tell me I'm a nice guy. In fact, I've been told that I'd make a really good boyfriend, because I can take care of someone really well (open the door for, pay attention to, buy gifts for, remember important dates, etc.). Unfortunately, people who tell me this are usually women and they usually follow up by telling me that I'm so nice that they don't want to go out with me and "spoil what we have."

If there are women around who prefer "nice" guys, I haven't met any, and I'll believe it when I see it.
