The islets of langerhans are cells in the pancreas, that produce glucagon, insulin, and somatostatin. There are three types of cell, alpha, beta and delta, producing each type respectively. Shove it in a search engine, google is a good one, and you should find something.

As for the Golgy bodies - they're strange structures in the cytoplasm of cells, and I haven't the faintest what they do.

More odd words: 'baleen', 'pus', 'putrid', 'supperating'...

Salubrious.
It means health-giving etc. but sounds descriptive of the type of bar where you have to poke a hole through the fug before you can see the barman, and put a napkin on your seat before you sit down.
And, whilst looking up 'salubrious', I found 'soupcon' (soft c, with a little gubbins underneath.) A word that cannot be said seriously.

Gubbins? Cedilla, surely. One o' these - 'ç'. Which is in itself an innately funny word. As is 'sibilant', a word which itself describes the word 'cedilla'...

Flotsam and jetsam.

That's it. I knew vaguely, but didn't want to look foolish. (It's not a character used in the languages I study.) And I got to write 'gubbins', which is worthy of recognition.
'Cedilla' sounds like a musical instrument of the Renaissance, something lute-like.

Which is somewhat ironic, as I know an elderly, crochetty and extremely amusing 'cellist by the name of Jean Gubbins... poor woman.

My friend was going to change her name to Jenny Gubbins, just so she could be a farmer's wife and make pies. She changed her mind when she realised she'd have to grow huge forearms.
