I'm halfway though a Norwegian translation of 'Le Petit Prince' by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry It's very, very sweet, and not for kids only!

Filth by Irvine Welsh. Nasty stuff, I'll have to read something about flowers and fluffy bunny rabbits afterwards to get my mental state back to normal.

Just started Martin Amis, "Experience". I've no comment on it at the moment as I have literally just started, I'm about three pages in.

I just started Ryu Murakami "69". The first 10 pages are quit OKif you like radical books, a bit too nasty for me though

I too read several books at once. Each book is picked up depending on my mood at the given moment. Right now I'm reading "Tiz" by Frank McCourt., The Poisonwood Bible (Kingsglover), Cry the Beloved Country Alan Paton (for the third time), Jude the Obscure (for the second time) And The Englishman's Boy. While growing up I devoured books for breakfast, reading every British Author I could find. I found Canadian Fiction SOOO Dull!. It wasn't until about 6 yrs. ago that I realized there was more to Canadian Fiction than Susannah Moody! "Fall on your Knees" is truely the best Canadian Book of fiction I have ever read (Almost equal to Timothy Findley's The Wars) It's dark, gothic, mysterious and definately looks at the world from a woman's perspective. Every man should read it. I must say that I read it when it was first published, not when it appeared on the Oprah Book Club!

I've moved on to The Deeper Meaning of Liff for the 'nth time

"Le Petite Prince" One of my alltime vavourites! I pick it up once in a while just to ground me in relation to my place in the universe.

Just finished "fever pitch" by nick hornby, nice but didn't warrent all the fuss in my opinion, also just finished (back to back) "litttle boy blue" and "dog eat dog" by Ed Bunker (AKA Mr Blue) prose like a prise fighter punch is a goot description the 1st 100 pages of little boy blue are amazing and will leave you reeling.

At the mo I'm reading "Snow Crash" cant remeber the authour, I only tend to remember the auther if I finish a book and think its good - so far snow crash is good giving an excellent dystopian veiw of the near future and I reckon its a goodie.

Neal Stephenson wrote Snow Crash. Excellent book that If you do like it I'd recommend you have a go at Diamond Age, another one of his, slightly less frenetic but very good indeed as is all his stuff - I just wish he'd write some more.
I'm taking a break from other books with Terry Pratchett's 'Thief of Time' just out in paperback.

I am also reading T. Pratchatts 'thief of time', in hard cover though...

Hmmm... 'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall' for educational purposes, and the new William Boyd book, 'Any Human Heart' - from what I've seen, it's much better than his last one.

Wading my way through Doron Swade's "The Cogwheel Brain" - about Charles Babbage's attempts to build the first computer.
Also, "Geological Excursions in the Britol District"
Just finished "Fairweather Eden" fr the 2nd time.

MC - if you liked "Snow Crash" and "Diamond Age" then run out and get a copy of "Cryptonomicon" it's his absolutely best to date - although I hear there's a 16th cent alchemy one coming out soon...

There's a new Neal Stephenson on the way? Great news! I have read Cryptonomicon and agree with you it's his best to date. I've recommended it loads on H2G2 before too, big book but very deserving of the time it takes.

Flesh of the Gods, it sounds gory but is actually a factual book about hallucinogenic drug use in various cultures around the world, mainly about their shamanistic/tribal uses. Very interesting.
Also have just finished The Castle of Crossed Destinies by Calvino, another good book, but am now looking for something a little more light-hearted/easy read as I have finally finished uni for the summer!!
