That is to say, they would be pulled out, I didn't do it deliberately.

In a dream, the fear of loosing your teeth, for whathever reason is supposed to denote a period of anxiety, change or (if you can believe this one) worry over your appearance.
I think I was afraid of my teeth falling out after my mum told me eating sugary foods would rot them and I would end up looking like my gran...

I read somewhere that 'teeth crumbling' dreams were classic anxiety dreams. Nothing to do with teeth per se.
I've never had dreams of my teeth actually falling out, but I have had some in which my teeth started crumbling in my mouth . . . most unpleasant sensation.

I have a friend with a morbid fear of fish and have never seen anyone react so violently; we were in a museum and inadvertantly walked into the aquarium. She instantly dropped into a ball and I had to get the security guys to help me lift her away. It took several hours before she could get it together.
Definitely my idea of a phobia

I have a phobia of worms which i can trace back to having one thrown in my face by my Aunt when i was about 5, i can still remember it dangling across my nose.
While in senior school and lined outside waiting to go into a lesson, one of the school thugs walked along the line dangling a worm in everybody's face. As he approached me i was calculating exactly where i'd hit him to avoid coming in contact with the worm .When he did eventually get to me all calm deliberation went out of the window and blind fear set in however. I broke a finger, his nose, and had to be pulled off him by two teachers because i was trying to bite his face off.
I've never felt fear/anger like it since.

Wow!
Bet he never dared bully anyone else, after that

I wasn't troubled with strangers bearing worms anymoe that's for sure.
I think deep down i knew that any reaction had to be of epic proportions or i would suffer years of 'worm taunting', but even i was suprised by what a combination of blind fear and anger can do. For that brief time i was prepared to kill him if i had to.

Phobia or fear?
I break into a sweat just thinking about escalators. When using them, if I am going up, I have to lean forward, and if going down, lean back. The fear becomes more acute if the escalator is open plan. This could pose a problem at w*rk, as our escalators are open plan and extend to eight floors, and not surprisingly I have only managed to use the basement to ground escalators. Luckily I have an exemption certificate, which allows me to use the lifts, for which I don't have a problem.
My irrational fear is open staircases, especially when adjacent to a window or other opening. The last step, going up, causes particular problems and I have to hold onto the handrail firmly before taking that last step. I am unable to look up into the stair well ceiling without experiencing an intense giddy feeling, almost to the point of nausea and blackout. Luckily neither have happened.
This may well be a factor of my fear of heights or, as I've been told, ground fixation which, as someone posted earlier, creates an urge to just throw myself over the edge. The higher I am the greater the urge. Because of this, I am unable to ascend tall buildings, or stand by floor-to-ceiling windows.
On the moving creatures front, I am pretty casual on most of them... even to the extent of scooping large hairy out of the bath by hand... except those nasty, horrible, useless stripey yellow and black flying creatures called WASPS. It is a purely irrational fear, but again intense. I have even been known to jump out of a moving car when one has flown in the window. I can only assume it stems from being stung as a child, where the infected area on my calf ballooned to the size of a and has left a scar about the size of a 5 pence piece.
If anyone has a way of overcoming these problems I'd be pleased to hear them. Particularly the escalator/stair/heights thing. I know that facing the phobia (handling , snakes etc.) doesn't work. It just exacerbates the problem.
Otherwise I'm perfectly normal ...ish!!!

Ooh ooh, on the whole wanting-to-throw-yourself-onto-the-ground-from-a-great-height scenario; I sometimes get an irrational desire to throw my plate of food onto the unsuspecting shoppers below, when I am up in those open plan food courts in malls. Why can't they just keep them on the ground??

As someone else has pointed out here, much of the fear of heights *is* about <>
Which I mentioned I sometimes felt when I lived in an apartment on the 26th floor with a large balcony.
Weird thing. Because I've never actually wanted to ever toss myself off a great height, but sometimes there was the scary notion that *I could . . .* And it was this thought that scared me.

Mailman acknowledged previous mentionings in his (/her?) post and I was replying to that, as it brought to mind an urge I sometimes get (not a phobia/fear I know)
So no-one is trying to nab concepts or anything

I know I shouldn't laugh about the worm-bully thing but I can't help it... probably something to do with my continuing wish of Death to all Bullies.
I'm 26 and am still scared of being bullied or laughed at because of my hair/clothes/weight, etc.
