I was originally going to post this in the boxers vs y-fronts conversation, but if you’ve read this topic header you’ll note its a bit different.

Commonly coined as ‘going commando’ in the states, with no boxers, no briefs...no undergarments period! What's with that?

I don't do it, if you must know I just know some of my friends do it occasionally because its ‘easy’ and they also commonly blurt out little tid bits of information like that...you know, the kind of stuff you don't really need to know, but now know anyway...

Oh well, the community is talking about pants, lets talk about why some of us don't wear these undergarments! Some say its liberating, others believe its a break in religion...which is sort of freaky.

Generally speaking, I only go pants-less if I'm fresh out of undergarments. Going commando whilst wearing jeans can be hazardous to one's health, in dress pants it's quite uncomfortable, and in a skirt, it's just asking for trouble. But I've done it before, sometimes for lack of laundered undies, sometimes to avoid panty-lines. And a "lady" knows never to wear any sort of panties under pantyhose. I'm not sure why, because nylon doen't breathe at all and isn't terribly comfortable, either. But apparently, that's just "the way it is". So, I always go pants-less if I'm wearing pantyhose.

Having read all of the discussions here, I'm overwhelmed with the urge to go pants-less tomorrow, just for sh*ts and giggles. No-one's likely to know but me, but still, it does lend a certain air of freedom, it is quite liberating. And it makes me feel so naughty... Maybe going commando is a means of quiet rebellion for those who can't always do it openly? Or maybe it's just not wanting to do the laundry on any given evening...?

I don't usually bother, unless it's very hot. I mean, what's the point?

I agree with psychocandy, going commando is a bit of fun and gives the feeling of being naughty. Sort of fun when you want to spice it up with your partner. I definitely would not do it on any business day but it does add spice to some boring occassions. So I say pick and choose your commando days, both nothing so boring as being too lazy to do laundry. It is about being sexy/erotic.
