Hello,
Well this is me. I live in Banff, Canada. I ski, I hike, I read.
As of the last couple of years I am a failed artist. Failed as in not doing art anymore. I guess you could call it a priority/financial choice. That should cover the bear minimum.
context
Living in Banff. A very interesting existance. Around 6 months of winter and then a quick scorching summer with an ocassional snow fall (this is less likely now, things are getting warmer). Summer is full of animals wandering around trying to avoid the tourists. Hikes through the mountains. Moments of splendid isolation. Quiet. Nothing but the wind, the mountains and an immense sense of time. Sitting at the top of some pass or moutain top gives this amazing sense of inner peace and location. Getting out in winter is a bit more tricky since there are the hazards of exposure and avalanche. But going for a ski even at a ski resort, a person can still find moments of magical peace. It is just a matter of knowing where and when to go.
The main trick is staying out of town as much as possible so to avoid the whole tourist trap.

My sister X got me into Hitchhiker's when I was 12 and that set off the whole reading thing. I still go back to Adams every so often for that other view. this summer I started working in a bookstore in Banff and got my hands on "The Salmon of Doubt" and followed the clues to here.
