I'm popping by as one of the assistant community editors here(or <./>aces</.>...a Canadian one in fact). But we greet newbies such as yourself and help you get settled. Thanks for the introduction , not everyone provides one(for some reason). To familiarize yourself with everything though, review my colleague Feisor's list of Hints and Links at A719840. You'll find numerous features there, including the assortment of <./>smileys</.>(among other things). However thorough examination of the list will reveal Many 'other things'.
Our weekly newspaper <./>thepost</.> being just one example.
In fact The h2g2 Post's Links Page will reveal numerous additional points of interest. Of global and/or regional interest are the Researchers' Map at A5076614 and-as a Canadian-the Canadian Researchers' Club at A1037323. However you'll also discover the
Musicians Guild at U150368, the h2g2
worms Club at A745544, the Random Quotes Guild at A907382 and the Personal Space Workshop at A1123354(to name just a few). You might find that last one-the Workshop-useful as a supplement to Spicing Up Your User Page, which Feisor refers you to. Also you're more than welcome to drop into F19585?thread=252800&latest=1 ...that's our Canuck 'lounge' of sorts.
But take your time looking the list over. If it leaves you with any unanswered questions feel free to leave me a message. Simply use the 'Reply' button and I'll try to get back to you asap, ok.

Hi,
Just wanted to say thanks for the message. I am sporadic sometimes with my internet activities, so it may take me a little while to look through everything, and get comfortable. Like I said, thanks a lot for making me feel welcome, I'm a big Douglas Adams fan since I was probably 12 or so. Take it easy,
Rick
