h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

So, it seems that even after I've been away from h2g2 for more than a year a few people miss my sunny () presence here.

I've been out of touch with writing of any sort for nearly a year, too -- my last blog post was in March this year (I just looked it up).

Some of you may know that I'm a volunteer at Distributed Proofreaders (preparing books as ebooks for Project Gutenberg). In May this year, I started volunteering for librivox.

It's fun, but can amount to a lot of work -- so that keeps me very busy.

I've been told that it's the 'an h2g2 journal a day' again here, so you'll all be swamped with journals, and this will vanish from anyone's radar pretty soon, I guess.

That's fine. Don't feel that you *have* to post here, I fully understand if you're all journaled-out.

Yes, there's a lot to read here, but it's fun - and it certainly beats the dry spells we have witnessed in the past

Somebody mentioned it being quiet here, too, so it's nice to hear that this month is different.

Hi Bel. Pink Paisley was in Frankfurt a couple of weeks ago - I don't know if he contacted you maybe via facebook. It seems they weren't too keen on Ebbelwei, but otherwise did most tourist things.

Are you still reading ebooks? I'm currently nearly through the third (of five) volumes of A Song of Ice and Fire (aka Game of Thrones, as it is known as TV series). If you like that sort of thing, I can recommend it.
