smiley - sorry

Firstly I'd like to apologise for all the problems you have all been having since the upgrade on Tuesday.
We're in the process of porting existing pages from the old C++ to the new C# and I've a missed a few nuances of the complex h2g2 functionality.
It's not a case of trying to improve things for the sake of it, it's more under-the-bonnet maintenance and move to a single code base where we might be able to add new functionality and features.

Please bear with me and thank you for your invaluable support in reporting any issues you've found.

Thanks for letting us know smiley - smiley

The one that affects me the most is the problem editing large Entries. If you think this (or indeed any of the other bugs) is going to take a long time to fix, then let us know so we can try to work around it.

smiley - cheers Icy

I can now see what you mean and I'm investigating but it's odd as we haven't touched anything on the user edit page, but I shall let you all know.

Yes, thank you. And the skin problem was temporary, somebody managed to change it: when I looked this afternoon, I immediately got nauseous. smiley - laugh

The Thingite Campaign, also, would qualify as "large" - (adj: (1) of relatively great size, extent or capacity (2) of greater size than the ordinary.

Good to know it's being looked into. smiley - ok

Sorry for the no reply yesterday but I was heavied into helping out with apprentice messageboard stuff and we're a bit thin on the ground this week.

Coupled with the fact that this is a real strange one, the characters seem to be added into the actual querystring, so it's still on going at the mo sorry.

Could someone post a link to the thingite article please.

Does it help if you know which entries can't be update?
There's the General Features Archive A756687 and the Platypus Dancing Archive A2182141 and when those didn't work this morning, I didn't even attempt to add to the Cartoon Corner archive. I created a new archive and removed something from the Cartoon archive - that worked.

Hi folks

Thanks for the replies, it looks like we've managed to track the issue down. It wasn't me this time, but it was us so-to-speak, hopefully we should have a fix for this up to live shortly.... after we check it hasn't broken anything else.smiley - ermsmiley - biggrin
