"In this entry" - unstylish?

An entry I'm working on has somewheres in it: "This entry does yatta yatta yatta..." I know it's bad form for almost any writing; is it acceptable for guide entries?
Also, the researcher included a section on her personal experience. She placed it all in blockquote, thought it is rather long. I don't recall seeing anything in the style-guide about it-- but that is OK, right?
And if it is, do I use the tag or just when starting new paragraphs?
come to think of it, here's the entry:

Blockquotes are cool. Use within the quotes but outside. I don't particularly like 'this entry...' but it's been used in the Guide before.

Hi Leo,
This kind of query can be posted to the sub-editors yahoo mailing list. It's probably better to post on there than on site.

I realized that afterwards.

Heck.
But there's nothing wrong with blockquoting half the entry. That's my real question.
Key: Complain about this post
