Math - Playing Devil's Advocate Posted Mar 7, 2003
I live in Cardiff, but work on saturdays, assuming we can get a fixed date in sufficient time for me to book the day off I will be there my suggestion would be the 3rd as the closer to pay day the richer people feel

Thanks milo and Math, I've added your names to the list...
Let's say May 3rd as a provisional date. I'm away now 'til Sunday night, have a yak about it while I'm gone and maybe there'll be another name or two to add as well.

I've put a request in for the 2&3rd off, if anyone plans to get in early let me know and assuming I can get the time off (which I should know by the middle of next week).

I'd certainly like to come, but I have to work Sat mornings and I'm transportationally challenged, so I'll have to wait for the plans to be a bit more fixed, and see what I can organise.

I'm keeping it free. I'll talk to Master B about it too, see if he can make it down for the weekend.

Has anyone come up with more of a plan than meet in a pub in Cardiff ? Like which pub to meet in, or if anything other than pub, beer, conversation, will be happening ?

I'd rather not spend all day in a pub if I can avoid it! I'm looking at this Museum of Welsh life as a possible place to spend an afternoon. I've never been though so I dunno if it's any good. It's also a bit outdoors stylee, so if it rains (rain? in Wales? Surely not...) things could get soggy.
As for a pub... Not knowing Cardif very well, I'd suggest initially meeting in that big, visible Wetherspoons near the bus station (Prince of Wales, is it?) then moving on somewhere with a bit more character after. As ever, suggestions are more than welcome...

The walkabout just round the corner is a bit nicer than the wetherspoons. plus it's staggering distance from chip alley.

Yeah the Prince of Wales, is the one A good choice to meet up in, but I imagine it will be pretty busy late on a Saturday, as I'm local I'll have a look at getting to St Fagans Museum (Museum of Welsh life). I'll work on the assumpt of some traveling by public transport and some by car... If I can get my ass in gear I'll even try and put it somewhere online... if I get that organised I'll let people know on here.

St Fagans is a big site. It's not too bad if it rains as you can spend quite a bit of time inside. It's well signposted from the M4, I'm not sure how public transport would work though.

Just for ref; I wouldn't be particularly interested in going to St Fagan's as I've been far too many times as a child. However, I never get tired of drinking.

I have no idea whether I'll be able to make it though! Depends on finding somebody to come with, who drives a car!
Love South Wales though, so I really would like to come

Hello! Sorry about the protracted silence from me, I've been trying to do clever things with my computer and it all went horribly, horribly wrong... and then my work started trying to catch up with me...
I'm still up for it, but less sure about this St Fagans idea, especially since I realised that's Bank Holiday weekend. (bank holiday + popular museum = large crowds + hordes of screaming kiddies = me*)
