Now that we have this lovely organisation, and 12 members at the time of this posting, what next?
Are we content just to link here from our homepage and let our mighty numbers speak for themselves (3.141592)? Do we want a group where we can talk about the problems of today's youth (parents, and other topics that older researchers aren't interested in, or you don't want to talk about with them)? Do we just want the club as a reference to who's under 18 on the guide? for your thoughts.

I like all those ideas. I definitely believe we need a place to talk about kid stuff--away from the know-it-all antics of those silly adults! I also think it's a great place for new young researchers to meet OTHER young researchers who are already deep into h2g2. Amen, Jen!

All of them! We really need a place to talk...

See, that's just the kind of thing I mean. All the adults always go around giving each other alcolholic drinks. That's illegal you know, serving alcholhol to minors. A Toast! to us, so that we may continue our persuit of extremity. And to the conversations everyone will now start about issues relavent to people OUR age (even movie stars or weird music this shall include, if any of you are in to that sort of thing)
This is the place of the young ones! Power to us!

Well I am gonna complain about a topic that is plagueing those of my age right now: College!!!! I don't know where I want to go or what I want to major in. It is so frustrating when your parents ask you every five minutes, "What are you going to do with your life?" Seriously I have no idea and it scares the...well it scares me a lot. So if any of you have similar complaints feel free to post them, so then I know that I am not alone.

*bow* amen, brothah! (or...rather sistah...) I haven't a clue, either. I do know I want to win an oscar, a pulitzer, a nobel prize, and discover a way to time travel...but those aren't TOO out of my reach, are they?!
Speaking of movies and music--my favorite movies are Fight Club, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Emperor's New Groove, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, BASEketball, Death to Smoochy, and anything with Edward Norton in it My favorite band is System of a Down DEFINITELY and I also like alot of punk, like Good Charlotte, Blink 182, etc. etc...How's that for a convo starter!

um. college scares me. I'm only a freshman, and have no idea about how to do any of this. apparently in my town they dump everything on you junior year.
I like Emperor's New Groove and Star Wars, but would be hard pressed to choose a favorite. Movie I've watched the most is probably ???. Maybe some star wars or something, but I don't count.
My favorite music group is Tafelmusic, and favorite composer is Bartok, but I like basically anything classical. Many of DZ's favorite bands scare me. Too loud. I did listen to some Good Charlotte recently, in my church's confirmation class. I don't understand why we did, but whatever. It was okay I guess, but I focus more on melody and harmony when I'm looking for music than loud noises. Please don't take offense. I'm just a quiet music person. I tend to keep the volume low enough to hear what my sister is playing in the other room.
How's that for a response!

Fascinating
Yes, they dump everything on us our Junior year here, too...unfortunately, I AM a junior
I love loud music--now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for harmony and melody...I've played the piano for 10 years, after all That's why I like System of a Down--they're one of those bands with EXCELLENT harmonic voices, and amazing instrumental bits...plus it calms me down when I'm angry
And Good Charlotte is just fun to sing to
I also adore classical music, especially Pachelbel's Canon in D, and Moonlight Sonata in C# minor

Oh, by the way, Jen, I'm left handed too I recently wrote a speech about it and got 3 first places w/ it
Isn't being left handed interesting?!

Very fun. I always write upside-down in spiral bound notebooks, and no one can understand why. Throws them for quite a loop.

I'm afraid I must go, and leave the hijacking to you. I have orchestra rehearsal (hooray for youth orchestra), and I want to eat lunch first. (It's Saturday, almost noon here, and I need to leave at 12 and will return at 3, with no time for food. so I will rush to eat now)
hijack well.

Now that I am hearing all these recommendations I will have to try System of a Down.
*think, think, think* I wonder which of my friends from school has a CD I can borrow? Any recommendations as to which songs to hear?

Chop Suey (toxicity album), Aerials (toxicity album), EgoBrain (Steal This Album Album) Spiders (Self-titled album). uuuuum...ooh The Highway song (Steal this Album Album) I think that may be it along the lines of good recommendations!

well, I can be okay with loud music as long as I control the volume. to very, very soft. at which point I don't really care about the words anymore, 'cause sometimes soft enough, because of loud guitar/drums means the lyrics are drowned out.
