I find these humourous observations very true- I would, I wrote them.

Oh, an opinion piece, eh?
Not really suitable for Peer Review (see the Writing-Guidelines, but there's doubtless a home for it. Either the Alternative Writers' workshop or <./>Askh2g2</.>
Why did you choose a dead rocking horse? Surely, by definition, a rocking horse was never alive?

Drive-Thrus started in LA (where I am posting from) and were never about speed. They are about privacy and laziness.

I merely use the dead rocking horse as a manner of speech- something that is never alive must have very few brains- doubly so when dead. Thanks for the tip though!

Hi Tomcat,
While I like the idea of drive-ins as a entry topic, I don't know if this entry is really ready for the edited guide, as it stands now.
There is some general advice for Writing for the Edited Guide here:
A53209 Writing for the Edited Guide
But the best advice is to read many, many entries in the edited guide to see what people are writing and what people are recommending for the front page.
If you still would like this entry to see the front page, there will probably need to be a pretty big overhaul. However, with good bit of work, this entry might be reconstructed in a more 'Edited Guide' way.
Remember too, that anything you write will stay in the Guide, and the the Edited Guide is only one venue for entries.

Hi Tomcat - if you aren't going to change this to meet the Writing-Guidelines with a view to getting it into the Edited Guide, then please could you unsumbit it from Peer Review. All you have to do is go to PeerReview and find the listing for your entry, and click on the 'x' at the right-hand end of the line that will remove it.
Thanks,
Number Six
PS - I enjoyed what you wrote, by the way, don't feel too discouraged, it's just not the sort of thing they want for the Edited Guide. But it'll still be part of the Guide anyway, and anyone searching for 'McDonalds' will still find your entry.

Ditto on previous comments. Reading this, it came across like a piece of US-style observational stand-up comedy. Which may possibly be a good or a bad thing, depending on which angle you're coming at it.
As mentioned, you'd need to really rework it - come at it from a different angle. Or go for the non-Edited option and just be happy to have something sitting in the Guide as a whole.
In which case, follow what Number Six said and drag this lil' fella out of Peer Review.

I concur. Is it the Underguide or the Spaced-out Guide that likes this sort of thing? Would be a shame for it to just vanish back into the ether.
