McDonalds Drive-Thru's
Created | Updated Aug 22, 2003
Has anyone ever noticed that it always seems to take longer to use a drive-thru than to actually go into the restaurant? I mean, as far as I know, aren't drive-thru's meant to save you time? Most of the time there's a queue. So you patiently queue while the person in front of you selects their meal. Except that the person in front of you always seems to be completely unaware of exactly (or even vaguely) what the restaurant sells, how much the product costs, and how they are meant to use the drive-thru! Then, having waited, what, fifteen minutes- long enough to have bought your meal of choice and eaten it (if you are like me anyhow)- you move on to the first little window. Now I mean no insult to workers at McDonalds (particularly those with the resources and enthusiasm for litigation) but the representative of that huge corporation always seems to be aged about 12 years old (slight exaggeration there) with the IQ of a dead rocking horse (once again no peronal insult intended). Having finally managing to convey the specific details of your order to the McWorker, you move on to the final window, collect your order (handing over a bag requires little conversational skills) and are now free to drive away and enjoy your meal a full 20 minutes after having joined the queue at the McDonalds drive-thru. Thankyou and goodnight,
