An under-estimate ? Thats a planner for you.

The quote reads - to say I'm delighted is an under estimate - I'm assuming this is actually what he said and not a typo in your behalf.
My contention - causing all the haedaches - is that planners either desperately under-estimate because they have no experience of normal human interaction, or they assume that people will react in the anally retentive way that they do and vastly over subscribe.

Oh. I was miles away. I just thought he did good work to do with the terrible train crashes that happened in Hertfordshire during the last few years.

Somebody had a sense of 'deja-vu' about this entry???
A912016 - David Moses OBE
Rt. Rev. Lesley Gentle Posted Jan 13, 2003
Why? I haven't seen an article writen by anybody else about him. If there already is, could you point me in it's direction to see if I have missed out any important information./
Cheers!

Let's just say that I have good reason to be suspicious of its provenance: the thread http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F105801?thread=229407&skip=0&show=20 will explain why.

A google search confirms that this chap clearly exists. However, the entry is a bit pedestrian. Is there nothing more interesting to say about him? If not, is it worth having an entry on the topic? I suspect not.

When I read it I thought it had come straight out of a newspaper or newsletter. Hence my suspicion about it.

A local newspaper maybe? certainly possible. It doesn't appear to have come from anything that is on the web, in any case.

I searched the London Gazette, which publishes the honours lists, but couldn't find any David Moses OBE.
Perhaps the date or spelling is incorrect, or it was a different honour? If the Rev could provide the listing reference that would be a great help.

The online Guardian has Mr Moses down for an OBE in the New Years honours, for services to emergency planning.

Monk, you are sad beyond even the vast spectrum of upsetting events I have born witness to, and i've been to borehamwood.
Cease this tiresome witch hunt
The real Monk would be chuckling at you right now.

No witchhunt, mate. Just very fed up and annoyed with others wasting my time for their own amusement.

I can understand the frustration, but I still think it's important to avoid prejudicial and/or insulting treatment in PR. As others have said, a web search very quickly turns up that the subject of the entry did, in fact, receive the OBE for the reasons detailed in the entry. However, nothing I saw on the web had more than a sentence or two about the guy, and I find it a little disturbing to start off with charges of plagiarism without actual proof.

It's just that the first entry posted to PR by this guy was plagiarised. And he *did* say he was going to do it again. So I just took him at his word. Predjudicial, maybe. Unfounded, not at all.

It's that old cry wolf thing... When you try it on, you inevitably lose a bit of credibility.
Still, apart from those issues, it's a bit thin at the moment to say the least.
