Here's the sign up thread for membership in the h2g2 Maths Lab. I'll just start the roster with people who expressed interest in the <./>askh2g2</.> thread, and add people as they sign up here!

Me too, it should provide a welcome break from my PhD.

I'll be an RMG for you
I think something like the Writing Workshop, but for unfinished maths entries, is a good idea. There are some around, I'll go and have a look for them...

Hmm...
It's been suggested that I reword the RMG bit to sound less... um... elitist? So people can join without claiming to be a... whatever G is supposed to stand for.
If anyone thinks of something clever before I do, please let me know.

For some reason whenever I see this thread in My Converasation I read RMG as Real Metal God. I really dont know why.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of Ozzy, as Real Metal Gods go...

Re overcoming the accusation of *elitism* ...
How about...
Resident Maths Gurus/Geeks/Goofs: whatever your understanding of maths [or mathematical ability this bit sounds naff even to me] you're welcome to join in and *differentiate* yourself from the crowd, and *integrate* into the Maths Lab. To become a RMG, just sign up here!
I can't think of a G word (other than Goof) that covers those less confident that might want to ask questions
Please feel free to ignore this entire post, but then you did ask

Groupie?
I did a fairly radical rewording actually, which is up there now; comments welcome. I was somewhat inspired by the 'Real Metal God' tangent. (<-- closest I could get to <ozzy>

Can I join this ring of mathematicians? I've always belonged to that category of people who like maths, and I've become set in my ways. Hopefully we can get down to some real analysis of the subject, which because of the many interconnections can be considered a true integral domain, although its certainly no finite field. Sorry.
