Hiya, I don't have any de-myelination problems, but I do have physical pain cause by emotional trauma. I also suffer from manic and depression episodes, my doctor is not interested i helping me but I am begining to wonder, do I have a very mild form of bi-polar? Can anyone help me with this, as I do not know where to turn, should I be worried, could I have it? etc etc

Hi Abbi!

Hi kaz & Moose! smiley - smiley
Hootoo is weird again. My posts are untimely and 3-4 at a time. Hootoo voodoo is back smiley - wah

Kaz what is going on?
Manic depression is bi polar. Can you change your Dr.? Do you have extremes? There are some sites that you could read up on. You may recognise yourself, many people do. Have you crashed again in depression Kaz? Do you think PTSD could be a part? Because of the traumas? It is very disorienting, moody spells for sure. It is not the same as bipolar. The bi polar can be treatable.

just think, Moose, once these silly exams are out of the way, you will be able to :

*spend the rest of your life*

catching up on all these convos, taking copious notes etc; in a futile attempt to find out what on earth has been going on!

You lucky, lucky girl!

Hi Abbi, I was stuck in a manic phase, it was horrible, I was scared I would never get out of it. However I did, and I am not panicking now! I have read up on it and think I do have this problem, so I will read some more to learn.

One thing is, I know that you can lift yourself out of a depression, its difficult but can be done eventually. Can you bring yourself down from a manic phase? If I thought I could have a routine to follow when I get manic, which might help it go away, then I wouldn't be half as scared by it.

Feeling fairly normal at the mo though. I used to suffer from depression more, regurlar manic phases is a new thing for me, and they are horrible!

Hows you Abbi?

Well dear Kaz. I am afraid I do not know first hand but keep reading.

I do believe a routine may be helpful and most of all just realizing it and kind of knowing what is hapening at the time. Just like with PMS rage and tears ,once you know it's coming you can handle things better. It's being in the dark that adds so much fear.

I know a few folks here than deal with manic depression. I only know a bit myself from my family members. There are very personalized patterns for folks. Some switch rapidly and some lean towards one much more than the other. Medication can be very key depends on a lot of factors though. I would be a bit afraid of some anti-depressants that are not for this particular chemical imbalance. IT is all in the chemical balance for some.

Good luck Kaz and keep learning that is the way to more freedom and being able to seek the right help/professional. These days you have to do a lot of homework yourself it seemssmiley - ok Good for you in striving to learn.
