I picked a lot on gen on the help page, the rest came from folk Ive met on this sitesmiley - ok Today I even cut & pasted an article, Howzat den?smiley - magic

Here's a tip. If you write something long, highlight it and hit copy before you post. That way if you lose it, you can just paste it back in.

Right ok, but what do I copy it on to? a floppy or main disc? BTW is there a quicker way to get back up to top of page once an item has been posted? as if the string is long, its a long scroll up?smiley - okDid I tell U what happened last night to my Moscow story?

What you do Smudger is half a copy and paste. You highlight the text, and hit copy on the little menu. Your text will automatically be stored, you don't have to paste it anywhere or store it on your disk. Your computer remembers it until you highlight something new. You go ahead and make your post as usual, and if the computer loses it, you go back to post again, and just hit paste. (Hope this makes sense)

JE Maybe Terri is right, and we should start a new thread just for techie stuff.

Your right, it does look complicated when your trying to explain something to a person you cant see. There is a lot of help info. on the help section at the btm of the index page of this site, also has exercises to see if you got it right!smiley - okFunny though, as I used to be an instructor.smiley - erm

LE BIG STICK ARRIVEE!

I'm going to start a new convo on De Myelin Nation called "Information for De Nation!Non-geeks apply within!" & expect to see you there!

I'm NOT doing all this to be horrid but if anyone WAS lurking around wondering whether to join, they'd have to wade through all this & it might put them off. Plus it will add to Mooses problems, since she's already in the process of shifting convo's around so it all makes a bit more sense.

--hope you understand, I shall be joining you for my lesson shortly (if I manage to stay awake!)
