I left a longish note over at Lill's, but let me thank you all for your comments here as well,
A lot of my final decisions will depend on circumstances at the time, but all are being considered.

For once I am actually able to come.
I plan to do my normal Saturday morning Parkrun at 9am, so by the time I've got home, washed, changed and gone out again, I probably wouldn't be able to get a train before 10am. If I catch the 10:21am train I'd arrive at Waterloo at 11:49am, or more likely the 10:47am train won't arrive at Waterloo until 12:07pm, so I'll probably be a little late in getting to the guns.
At least it looks like the IWM isn't too far to walk to, about 15 minutes from there.

I would Walk...
Or you could go one stop on the Bakerloo to Lambeth North, but I think you might end up walking further to and from the tube entrances.
If you come out the front of the station it's only 15 minutes walk
or 10 + (0 -10) minutes if you wait for a bus.

Bluebottle Posted Sep 18, 2014
If I travelled by tube to Lambeth North, is it true that the only way to get from there to the museum is by doing the Lambeth Walk, oi?

Don't do it too vigorously or you could end up round the Elephant and up the Castle.
Which is of course much better than round the Castle...

Bluebottle, definitely walk from Waterloo to the IWM, it's very close.
Was it Waterloo where many meets ago you were supposed to meet up with Grey Desk, but neither of you knew what the other looked like, or what your real names were and the station announcer wouldn't do a tannoy?

Bluebottle Posted Sep 19, 2014
That was the Reading Thursday Meet-Up back in 2001 – the station's help desk person did do the tannoy announcement in the end, but he gave me a very strange look.

I knew it was somewhere! I had to have a quick check to see if that was a meet I went to. Sadly not, but I think I was working in a boarding school at the time so couldn't get away.

I have a question – is the WH Smiths in Waterloo (I was defeated, you won the war) participating in the 'Buy the Daily Hate Mail, get a Lego Toy Free' offer?
If not, is there a branch of Smiths somewhere en route between Waterloo (Promise to love you forever more) and the Imperial War Museum that is?
And how did Abba get trapped in Waterloo (Couldn't escape if I wanted to) when the exit is easy to find?

I can honestly say I have no idea, since the daily Fascist is not on any of my reading lists.
I know WHS at Victoria used to stock the Morning Star but it was kept under the counter, I took great delight in going in to get a copy in the rush hour with a queue of suits with bowler hats behind me.

Bluebottle, I pass a number of WHS on the way to IWM. Do you want me to see if I can get a copy, or is it by voucher redemption only?

I'm trying to work out my plan. I suspect that with the best will in the world, I won't be able to leave Parkrun, get home, washed & changed and walk to the station by 10:21am – 10:30am is more likely. I had thought that if I caught the 10:21am train I wouldn't have time to get to Smiths, but on reflection I don't think that catching that train will be possible.
So I now plan to get to town for 10:30am, when I'll have around 15 minutes in which to go to Smiths to buy provisions for the journey, as well as the Lego toy that comes with a very small Garfield comic and pages and pages of printed abuse.
I'll then catch the 10:47am train which is due to arrive at Waterloo (finally facing my Waterloo) at 12:07pm, so should arrive at the IWM before 12:30pm.
But thanks for the offer

Right, things seem to be shaping up.
I have to drop Himself off somewhere at 12, so Herself and I shall be hotfooting it from there to the IWM, and we shouldn't arrive later than 1pm. Earlier, if London is being cooperative. I think I have MMF's number, so I shall stalk you all via him.
Looking forward to it! Not long now!

My train gets in to London at 11.30 ish, so depending on how fast the assistance person brings the ramp, I should be at the IWM around about 12.00 or slightly later

I know. Don't post numbers. But I'm a big boy now.
And I'd rather have nobody lost around London than worry about being abducted by fetishists in Lambeth!

Help to clear stuff up please.
I am going to Barcelona on Sunday so will be there on Saturday. I'm pleased about that. Both bits.
Now, as it happens, I'm meeting my mother in London since she is on a day trip from t'north and I am meeting her at The Imerial War Museum at 1 and then taking her to the tower before returning her to The IWM later in the day.
What is the itinerary for the evening? Where and when? I've not kept up.
