And this one's close enough that I probably won't forget all about it, like I did for the Mancester meetsmiley - flustered PaperKid's smiley - football team has a double-header on the day of the meet, but I'd be available 17:15-18:00 and again 20:00-21:00 (London time). I'd just have to remember to actually turn Skype on on my phone. And make sure the phone's charged.

Will do my best, except the SH rarely has wifi or, if it does, it is often very weak. smiley - sadface

Fair enough--and I'm guessing that there will be at least one other person there that'll have the technology, maybe. Heck, maybe even someone already in my contact list!

Wait... Do I have to use wifi on my phone for Skype calls to work? because there's no wifi at the park. Maybe I should test things out... I can't remember if I'd set up the wifi on my phine or not when FS and I Skyped a couple months ago.

Florida Sailor All is well with the world

Let me know any time you want to try another Skype. Breaking in a new lap-top so I can take one with me, and leave the other for my wife.
Although my UK Mobile is at least semi smart the costs are prohibitive so I will depend on the lap-top and wifi for my communication needs over there.

smiley - cool

I *knew* someone at the meet would have something. It helps that, last time I looked, all the definite attendees are already in my contactssmiley - winkeye

Hm, I should probably make sure that Skype will work on my phone when I'm at the soccer field (no wifi there, but do have 4G)... Guess I know what I'll be trying during PaperKid's practice tomorrow and/or Wibble.

Not sure re. Wetherspoon's and Skyping as The Cloud is erratic to non-existent. We may be lucky, but I usually have to resort to using my mobile interface.

Will see what can be arranged. Usual time is 20.00 BST, when we celebrate/toast/honour absent friends and those sadly no longer with us.

Thanks for trying, anyway!

Evidently, Skype on my phone doesn't notify me when there's a callsmiley - wah

It may well be the problem at our end. You were showing online but, as my G/f and I know, that means zip. It's what we know as the Sky Ping Police.

I often see you online at home but am reticent of saying hi!

Same here--I do tend to be more of a listener than a talker, and I don' have much to say, normally. Phone calls with Ottox tended to have quite a few long silencessmiley - laugh
