Accomidation for London mini meet?
2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Started conversation Sep 9, 2014
having not spent much time in London now, for like ages and ages, really.... I guess William and I will need an hotel Nothing to fancy.... or expensive Probably near Kings X, as that'll be where we're coming in/leaving London from, and I seem to recall there is a tube of some description... can't recall which one, that takes one from Kings Cross to just near the Shakespears head, in Holborn.... any suggestions....

Piccadilly line, 2 stops. Unfortunately I don't know of any inexpensive hotels. Hope you find once.

I think there are a few near Kings Cross, from memory... which are a bit no thrills and not as expensive as some in London... I guess I could look Holborn way too, though I doubt that's any further off to be any cheaper

2legs, can I suggest the 91 bus instead of the tube? 2 stops is hardly worth the effort of escalators etc and you'd still have to walk a bit.
The 91 from Kings Cross to Holborn is easy, and from memory the bus stop is bang outside the door of the pub.

I keep forgetting there are buses in London Still trying to see if I can justify the trip, given that... even the so-called cheap hotels in London, are two or three times what William and I expect to pay anywhere else we've been =- can't really get the last train back, to Cambridge, as by that time at night, there'd be no s running to where William lives... and I've still not dispatched with my lodger soon... very soon... just not yet I'm still recovering my bank balance a bit from my recent trip away, even though I didn't spend much I had to pay for flights etc

After looking about on the net for a bit quite a bit, I found a room in a B&B for about 70 GBP a night. Just a couple blocks north of the British Museum, so right in the Holborn area.
It is in an 18th century town house which now has 17 rooms to let by the night.
They have good reviews on their site, but I will let you know at the end of the month
The loo may be down the hall - but this is an adventure
