A Conversation for London Mini-Meet, September 27th 2014

A London Mini-Meet, September 2014.

Post 1

MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship.

smiley - ok.

It looks like a London mini-meet is on the cards.

The date is 27th September.

The evening venue will be the favourite haunt of hootoo in London, The Shakespeare's Head, Holborn, as it is large, disability-friendly, has cheap food and drink (for London) and good transport links.

A daytime event will be forthcoming, but ideas or preferred suggestions are welcomed.

For those about on the Friday, the Natural Hiastory Museum has a special open-day which, last year, incorporated 750 students, professors, curators etc. showing what the museum does, it's 'type' specimens and many hands-on events. This is a pan-European event.

So far, Florida Sailor, 2legs and I are hoping to attend.
Please spread the word.

smiley - cheers

All being well, I shall be in too.

It's the Great River Race on the 27th for anyone who wants to watch something rather than walk about in the afternoon. http://www.greatriverrace.co.uk/index.php It starts at Docklands and ends at Ham. Riverside pubs get very busy of course, but there are plenty of vantage points along the route. http://www.greatriverrace.co.uk/about_course_reverse.php

And that's the cheapest! smiley - yikes With a strong possibility of ending up in the Thames I should think too.

I watched the race about 10 years ago, not far from the Globe. It was an excellent atmosphere both on the water and beside it.

MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship.

Saw it last year from Kew Bridge. Lasted around two hours.

So is the consensus for IWM? If so I'll get the Meet page updated. And what time shall we meet, as I need to plan my route, being restricted to the smiley - bus.

Also any preference on arrival time at the Shakespeare's Head?

I'll be at the NHM on Friday, so unlikely to make The Penderel's Oak, although I'd like to, just for old times' sake but don't think it is disability friendly.

At least the SH has a disability entrance and toilet. You won't recognise the place.

Just don't look for green swaddling and scaffolding. You'll be disappointed!

smiley - cheers
