Do you know what? I'm really tempted to give this a go.
There has been a novel bubbling within me for some fair old time (the theme, characters and plot are almost there). I'm now in a low-stress career, thank god. I need to check up on one or two things, but I will try to make this a goer.

That would be cheating - you have a title prepared already
I have: no title, no plot, no characters
All i can tell you is that, any writing with me spirals out of any idea of complexity - which at least will make writing sufficent easy - just not coherently
but since i can't do that on hootoo, why do it there

And Evangeline and MB. I have an idea of what the others' plans for their novels are, (or non plans in the case of some of you), but you are both being cagey. This is clearly unacceptable. I reckon it'll be fun (for me) to compare your ideas to what actually results. So...?

Nosebadger and Eat Bum: It's not cheating to have a title, outline, etc, prepared. Not according to the rules on site.
Sol, the NaNo website allows for a certain amount of social networking, and your "friends" are called "writing buddies." The feature was live last year, and is promised this year.

An outline! I think you give me too much credit. Try title, likely death toll in first 3 pages, (high) and thats about it
