Workshop A would be the writing workshop, right? Let's start with "How little knowledge is enough?" I've always been wary of writing guide entries, because I just don't have a comprehensive enough knowledge of anything to write about it with genuine authority.

Florida Sailor All is well with the world

Workshop 'A'

'How little knowledge is enough?'

I would think a talk about how to research an entry might be more appropriate. Speaking for myself, I have never written an entry solely from what I know at the start, but I build on my basic knowledge of the subject to learn enough for the project.

I am estimating that I have about 1/10th of 1% chance of making the meet myself, but I am having fun playing at exactly how much I would need to pull it offsmiley - biggrin

Although I drive here I would probably opt for public transport to avoid having to remember to drive on the wrong side of the roadsmiley - shrug

If I did I would probably fly into Heathrow and travel to Manchester for the Meet. A day in Edinburgh to sample Scotland. A day in London, just because I have been told you should, probably a tour of the Tower. A full Day in Portsmouth to tour the Naval Yard. hopefully all crammed into a week. It is fun to at least dreamsmiley - smiley

Btw, for stacking rail discounts, I'd head into your local train station ticket office. They can do tickets to/from anywhere in the country, and will know whether your discounts stack.

Amy, a thought I had but never made real when I turned 42 was to have a T-shirt printed with 'I am the Answer!' on the front and '...to the meaning of Life, the Universe and Everything' on the back.

I did actually contemplate organising a workshop in a brewery, where those willing would be able to help out brewing a beer for the day.

But then I realised I like the brewers around here and want to be able to talk to them afterwards smiley - winkeye

minichessemouse - Ahoy there me barnacle!

Hmm. I would love to come. Although it would be with a (PTO ably walking by then) Mouseling in tow.

If S can come too so I could potentially enjoy *some* of the evening meet that would be good.

It's also reliant on the money situation travel AMD hotels all adds up.

It definitely adds up, which is why Manchester was chosen rather than London, because that *really* adds up smiley - biggrin

I'm happy it's in Manchester. The London I last saw in 1985 is gone. Besides, I've been planning to go to Scotland for a decade now and it's about damn time I actually did it. smiley - cheers
