Superfrenchie

If I manage to get through to the oral part of my exams, that would take place in June. smiley - erm
But as I'm pretty confident I failed, I *should*, in theory, be ablr to attend. smiley - ok

I'd be up for one walk or the other. smiley - smiley

Titania (gone for lunch)

Definitely interested, I loved Manchester during the last meet-up. Much more relaxed, especially when it ocmes to the drinking culture, than London. And I'll probably pay a visit to the Font to try out their Pink Panther again.

Secretly Not Here Any More

To be honest Pastey, you'd better have lined someone decent up. Otherwise you're just throwing them to the wolves.

603, I believe the person I asked, who did agree (he'd had a pint) is indeed an expert. I wouldn't have asked them if they weren't smiley - winkeye

TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office

Rail connections from Hollyhead to Manchester aren't bad either. And every single event mentioned (including the moor walk!) sounds excellent.

Looks like I'll be in Manchester twice next year, so (The Discworld Con is in August).

Hmmm.... I was planning a Scotland trip earlier this year that fell through/dissolved/shut down. So, a Manchester/Edinburgh trip may be just the thing. smiley - towel

The way we're looking at scheduling things is:

11:00 Pub Opens
11:30 Workshop A and Walk A (hidden gems) and Moor Walk
14:00 Workshop B and Walk B (historical/through the ages)
00:00 Pub Closes

Of course, this is all dependant on number of participants etc. smiley - smiley The walks need to be in that order (due to the people who's arms I've 'twisted') but the workshops can be ordered to accommodate people's choices smiley - smiley

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

The moor walk sounds interesting to me too... Been decades since I went over the moors, and we probably weren't tin that kinda area anyhow smiley - headhurtssmiley - magic Of course.... Might be nice were there a hidden gem of a pub hiding in the middle of the moors smiley - laugh (I don't think my current level of alcohol consumption would let me do the useual get to the pub when it opens, and leaves when it closes, kinda meet plan for a meet day...) smiley - snorksmiley - blush Will there be badgers on the moors? smiley - sillysmiley - badger

Don't worry! The date isn't fixed, already Witty and Frenchie spoke up in the original threads, so we started looking at dates to suit. If the second weekend in June is better for people, it can be moved smiley - smiley

Just Bob aka Robert Thompson, plugging my film blog cinemainferno-blog.blogspot.co.uk

That time is always awkward for students. In my experience, some have already finished and gone home for the summer while others are still sitting exams: you just can't win. You just have to hope to catch as many as possible and accept that you can't satisfy everyone. Admittedly one good thing you are doing is to announce it early, so people can factor it into their summer plans.
Then, of course, there's the rest of us.
