Happy Birthday!

Well, Happy Birthday Us and for me today particular thoughts of Douglas and the fabulous team that brought h2g2 to life - quite what we thought we were doing launching live on Tomorrow's World, I don't know, but watching my screen and seeing thousands of people signing up as researchers in my office that evening was so thrilling. It was the early days really of the internet and certainly early days of plans for people to create content themselves. Douglas and the team ( who fourteen years on loom larger and larger in my mind as being a very special group of people) were real visionaries and I will be proud all my life to have been associated with them. Now we have a new team whose dedication and imagination are taking h2g2 on the next stage of the journey and I am very happy indeed to be back involved and playing another small part in this fantastic story. We are all luck that down the years h2g2 has attracted such care, concern and yes, love.
