Hi,

I read about the community artists group last week ( i only get net access on Sunday atm smiley - sadface ) and here is my effort to persuade you to let me join in. smiley - smiley

I had a peek at the "Coming Up" page, and saw an entry on the Fortran programming language thats just been edited. A87607597

So i have drawn an illustration for that entry and i also came across 3 others that need a picture so i have 4 in total.
(the other entries are: BASIC - the Programming Language A645121, C - the Programming Language A425846 and, An Introduction to the Unix Command Line A9050852)

You can see them in this little gallery here: (the fortran one is the 3rd, a circular picture)

I had a bit of spare time this week, but can at the very least do one or two a month.

Kind Regards Mike

Oooh, that's great. Our new picture size is 300x400 pixels, portrait or landscape, whatever fits best. And unfortunately transperencies are not an option at the moment. The page you replied to is terribly outdated I fear. smiley - sadface
I'm really surprised about what you came up with because I wouldn't have *any* idea how to make a picture for that.

We are working on Noesis at the moment (forums.noesify.com). It's better than Yahoo groups, which was used before.

So, this means:
I like those pictures but you'd have to make them a bit bigger (I guess you still have a larger version) and a background of whatever kind to make the whole thing 300x400 px. We hope to get transparencies in the future.
Also you would have to sign up to noesis and then tell me once you have so you get permissions to see the Artists forums.

Any questions?smiley - smiley

smiley - rainbow Hi,

A few questions, yes:

I can supply larger images no problem,is there any entries i can look at that have a larger illustration, also why larger?

Can i use simple animated gif images? ( The Unix command line entry illustration would be nice with a flashing cursor.

And thanks for the positive feedback. smiley - smiley

Just registered with noesify.

All the recent Entries had larger illustrations. The last BBC picture standard size was 300x375 px, now we changed it to 300x400 because it's more reasonable than the funny 75.
Larger pictures just give us more space, we often use photos. And we wanted to have all the same size for layout reasons.

I think we're not ready for animated pictures at the moment, but I'll have to ask Pastey about it. I personally would love to see them and I'm also sure we can have them in the future.smiley - smiley

I'll see that someone gives you the permissions for Noesis. With which name did you sign up?

The image sizes you're looking at were created under the old system - we had a small box for the bbc page, a small (but different) box for the front page, and a larger illustration for the article. I often used non-box images, which I'm sure drove the coders craaaaaazy.
