Don't let the description fool you.
Just because some of my stuff is low-budget does not mean that it is lacking in skill or talent.
I use MS Paint but that does not mean that it is crummy,
There are ways I have come up with using it and things I have done by it that few might imagine you could.
And I can save things as jpeg, gif, bitmap or a few other kinds of other file types fairly easily.
Yes, not just photo-manipulation, sometimes scannings of drawings done by hand. If you feel put off by the casual nature of my tone in some of that, well... you can look for yourself in my underground-overground portfolio that there is a link to on my PS.
Yes, a certain # of those are perhaps ruder than would suit the purposes of this site but there is a good variety of things that are within my subject matter range and not all of them are that way.
Think what you want of it... and of me.
*Shrug*
They are not the ones I am planning on submitting to here, but merely meant to provide means of some sort of a sample,... to attest that at least it can be said that I sort of (arguably, more-or-less) do seem to know what it is that I am talking about.
Oh, and by the way, I do know how to use other programs too. The programs used to make it/a piece needs be do not matter so much as the size and file type of the finished piece now, do they?
*Raises an eyebrow*

Hi Thorn,
If you fancy having a go at a graphic for us, possibly the best way to go about this would be to find an entry in the Edited Guide that doesn't have a graphic. The finished illustration will need to be 200x200 pixels and no bigger than 20k in size.
Once you've finished, upload the graphic to your own webspace, or a file-sharing site like Flikr or Photobucket, and we can take a look.

Ah. Thanks for the tip.
This is sort of I'm "stealth visiting"
*raises an eyebrow* Schedule @ Uni keeps me kinda busy. Probably more time for my Net for fun stuff somewhat later on.
Thanks.
Semester is past halfway more-or-less now I think.
Yeah. I probably won't be able to contribute regularly in a fixed manner, but... just, well... I guess every once in awhile if something,- I was particularly suited to, if it turned out that way, or something odd perhaps. Well, *brightens a bit* isn't that kind of what free-lancers are for?
Hmm.

Okay, so 200x200 pixels I can do that.
20kb size-wise?
Alright. Little bit of a tight fit, but if I can pull something small and grainy -ish but sorta readable @50x50 and less than or equal to 15Kb on deviant art for an icon, then that shouldn't be to tough of a problem. It's a challenge I'll look forward to.

I wonder if they could or would want to find use for a fractalist...

Cut to: four years later.
Jimster has become Smij and is now working on the BBC Archive website. He logs onto h2g2 to upgrade his account to a BBC Identity one, and sees that an ancient conversation has appeared at the top of his conversations list. He clicks the link:
Smij: Ooh! I forgot all about this.
He clicks "Unsubscribe".
Then panics and clicks "Subscribe" again. Just in case.
