I wouldn't hurt an ally! I don't believe in the kinds of mistakes that lead to "friendly fire" a suspect term if I ever heard one!

Well how many times have American forces sacrificed for the U.N. ? many. we've lost at least 750 men in their peace keeping missions and look how they repay us! Condemning our regime change! What kind of way is that to act?

Ok I'm not going to keep shtum any longer, more British personel were killed by the American's than were killed by the Iraqi's, have we had an apology yet...................well does anyone out there know. Let's hope Tony Blair keeps this in mind next time the American's want help and there WILL be a next time, who's next Syria, Iran, Pakistan?, Just remember what it's cost the other countries to go in and clear up the mess the American's left behind, anyone care to guess how many Austrailians were killed in Vietnam, does anyone know how many countries fought in Korea, where were the Americans when Mrs Thatcher begged for help in the Falkland War and were were they during the Suez Crisis, if America want's to be the worlds policeman they have to accept responsibiliy for their actions not try and shift the blame elsewhere like the UN, The UN is the worlds policeman America and Britain went behind it's back now they have to pay the price there cannot be one rule for one and one rule for another.
Ok Rant now over

War can be justified on some points but not on others, WW2 yes, the Falklands yes and I'm not saying that because I'm British, British lives were at stake, Yugoslavia pass, the jury is still out on that one, this war definatly not, we were just stroking Bush's ego, but let's hope that this is the last time we'll support Bush, I don't want any more lives lost to Friendly(?) Fire

The U.N. has become too pascifist. Contrary to poular belief, pascifism does not solve every situation. There are times when arms are not only one means of solving a problem but the only means. You can say what you want about the past the enbemy is always clear in hindsight and what shoudl have been done against them, but right now we have liberated a beaten and abused people and they are thankful for it. Chemical weapons? doesn't matter now, because the thankful ness of the people of Iraq is all the reason we need. Now that Saddam hasn't the power to make them fear him anymore we see how they really feel. They wanted him gone but couldn't say so, now they can and do.

The U.N. has become too pascifist. There are times when arms are not only one means of solving a problem but the only means, that is the attitude that frightens me, the UN AREN'T in the business of starting wars they clear up afterwards, who do you think will mop up the damage in Iraq, feed the hungry, house the homeless, help search for missing loved ones, will it be the US, I doubt it they'll be invading Syria or Iran or Pakistan, the US need an enemy, in the 40's it was Japan, in the 50's, 60's and 70's it was communsium in the 90's America didn't have an enemy it was beginning to lose it's bluster, then, well we won't go into that.
What America needs to understand is that Staring wars doesn't always bring the answer it desire's and by starting little inserrections like this it is laying it's self open to having it's ass well and truely kicked.............AGAIN!!!!!!!. One day the world will say enough and demand that the UN sends it's wepons inspectors into the US, the Human Rights inspectors will have a field day, the US has one of the worst human rights records in the 'civilized' world.
The US must get it's house in order before pointing fingers at others
Rant Over again

In the 40s we were entirely within our rights to battle Japan, they attacked us, they destroyed 1/2 the Pacific Fleet, and if you think that Japan was just being a nice little peaceful nation and that we blasted them off their imperial colonies then read a history book, spcificaly look for the entries on their actions in the Nanking area, and don't forget to read up on Operation 731.
The invasion of the communist North Koreans into the South interfered with our rebuilding of their nation after the withdrawl of the afor mentioned Japanese imperialst forces, they not only attacked the democratic south, but our re-construction forces. We were justified there too.
Vietnam, they asked us for our help, we gave it, Congress decided they should direct the war instead of the President (who is the commander and cheif of the armed forces, by our highest laws) and we didn't do too well because of their interference. When we pulled out we were still selling them vital amunition and guns and when Nixon resigned Congress cut them off, Congress hung democracy out to dry and the communist north took over. Not the best day in American History.
Communism as a whole is a good idea on paper but it doesn't work in real life, it makes certain assumptions obout human nature that are completely contrary to the true nature of man. Communism in practice on this planet has bread only opression and masacre (Stalin's pogroms killed over 21 million, Mao Tsatung killed of 45 million of his people, Pol Pot killed off 1 million because they wore glasses or had watches, and the North Korean's are too tight about their security for us to know how many they've killed but their food goes to the government and army first so there are many millions who have no food).
In 1991 we pushed the invasion of Iraq out of Kuwait. "We" means the UN and a coalition of Middle Eastern, important we remember his neighbors were involved in that. We pushed Saddam out of Kuwait, a place he invaded because he felt that their having oil rigs was a threat to him.
We know quite well that starting wars is not the only way to solve our problems and we know that the UN isn't for starting wars, but they are to keep the peace and protect human rights. Why don't you ask the Iranians or the Kurds how they feel about Saddam's efforts in the area of keeping human rights sacred. They will laugh you out of the country. He gassed half of them dead and the other half physically and psychologically scarred.
Incidently we have pledged that we will clean up the mess we started. We did it in Germany, we did it in Japan and look how they turned out! They are top of the world in technology, they are doing well and are happy to be free and democratic.
The UN needs to inspect us? EVERY country has its problems. Whether its with its territories or members of its populace that feel that they shouldn't answere to the present government (Ireland, Quebec, things of that nature). You can't point at America and say, "look how bad they are, we're saints and angels in comparison." Don't give me that trash.
