The Straight Trail
Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Jun 5, 2002
You know, if you need someone to go down there to spy, I guess I could slip into my other self - especially if I'm provoked...
...thinking of how that scum treated poor Zeppo is almost enough to make me - make me... *clenches fists*

soeasilyamused, or sea Posted Jun 5, 2002
oh, yes, i forgot to mention... i was thinking... we all *DO* know who's behind all this, right? because i've got some history with him, and if he remembers me, it could possibly be useful. however, i don't want to spoil anything for anyone who has no clue who i'm talking about...

Uh - I for one am not completely sure, although I might have a hunch... but no spoilers please, in case I'm wrong...

Oops, didn't realise the coach had made it to here
*Sticks head out of window to have a look at the town in the distance.*

Sol Posted Jun 5, 2002
*arrives, briskly*
Ok, I figure I'll go and have a looksee. None of the gand have seen me yet, and I'm sure I look sufficiently non-threatening to... err not be a threat.
Wish me luck!

Well, I haven't got the faintest idea who is behind this, but they deserve a good wrist slapping for kidnapping our Lil.

dElaphant (and Zeppo his dog (and Gummo, Zeppos dog)) - Left my apostrophes at the BBC Posted Jun 5, 2002
/* Pulls out his stapler and points it at the ape. */
I've had it with the mistreatment of dogs! Listen ape, you let those pugs go or find yourself permanently stapled to a tree! Explain yourself! What are you doing here?
Does anyone speak Ookish?

Amos the Ranchhand (and Driver) Posted Jun 5, 2002
The coach is mine! Patience!
*Amos drops the hitch but bids Bonnie and Clyde to remain where they are*
That Ape ain't threatening anybody, you know. He just did the sensible thing, seems to me,... if he was on our side.

Billy the Kid Posted Jun 5, 2002
Let's not all go running off in different directions now. They'll clean us up if we're isolated.
I reckon X could tell us something if he heard them dogs and knows we're here.
*considers the Ape*

Disgruntled Ape Posted Jun 5, 2002
*one hand remains fixed over the mouths of the two pugs who are beginning to wriggle, while the other hand gently fends off the third*
*The ape looks back impassively at the woman with the gun, then over at the Kid*
Ook? [~This~ is the rescue party?]

Sol Posted Jun 5, 2002
*swishing sounds from the undergrowth, Sol appears, hat slightly askew*
Right, well, that wasn't very illuminating. *points back at the town* There's a saloon over there - empty, more or less; there's a shop type of thing, which was very firmly closed up - I think I saw lots of weponry and the like; there's a jail house. Lil isn't there, but I saw Zero. He seems ok. Is he following?
I didn't see Zeppo, though, sorry, d'E.
Actually, everything was pretty quiet. Too quiet?
*suddenly notices the ape tabeleau.* Oh my...
Sorry about the coach. I wasn't, beleive me, terribly serious in my suggestion. Drive a coach

[The unknown person isn't going to reveal himself until he's sure of what side the ape's on]

*muffled voice from Odra's pack-Is it safe? Oh, ok.*

Munchkin Posted Jun 5, 2002
Might I suggest a compromise? Why don't we give the pugs some food? They should keep quiet for a moment as they eat that, allowing our simian friend here to let them go. That should then hopefully calm down the more excitable members of our group. Then we can plan where we are going next, who is driving and whither any of us understands Simian in the first place.
*Looks around expectantly*

Coniraya Posted Jun 5, 2002
*hastily slices and dices some steak for the darling little pugs and puts in to three bowls on the ground*
They are so cute!
Do we have time to eat? I'm sure I can rustle up a quick frittatta.
