GB, sorry to return to that subject (and Jack, sorry to ignore the explosion), but just wanted to answer your umm, answer.


I agree that the presence of minors was the better reason to stop (even though I wouldn't stress that too much, because that's a bit patronising).
As for the Jerry Springer defence, it only partially works. First of all, because this is not TV, where you can check the schedule, see when a show starts and ends, and avoid what you don't like; here, you just see 'x new posts', and can't know what's in them.
Other than that, it's mainly a personal thing. Personally, I don't like feeling that I'm making people uncomfortable. It's kinda like if I'd have been in a conversation with friends, and noticed some of them being offended by the subject - no matter if I think it's justified or not, I still don't think it's very nice to tell them they can just leave the room. *shrug*

This place was, in general, designed as a place to mess around, amuse each other, chat, and be stupid. It was invented from a conversation about taking over stuff which involved cats and milk

so, can we all just chill? seriously, like GB said, weird stuff happens, some people stay away during those phases until it calms down. People are perfectly capable of doing that if they wish. eventually, it all tends to come back to tea and taking over the mutli-verse anyway. So lets just give over policing each other.... and attack TB instead to get out the aggression? Ok, so you dont have to do the last bit if you dont want to. But i will.

1) everyone in England, Scotland Ireland and Wales pays a licence fee that pays for all of the BBC services, this website included, that means that everyone who yael told off in this thread is paying for this site, yeal is not,

2) It clearly states that when someone under 16 signs up they need parental consent and that although there is a moderation system in place it is still an adult site, any responsible parent should check out the site throughly to make sure it is suitable for their child as the BBC nor members of this website can police which threads these children wonder into

3)It was a bit of harmless fun, kids will (i know this for a fact I work in a school) hear far worse than what went on in that thread at school

4) has seen even seen some of the threads on hootoo the penis thread in ask is a prime example
