re: the northern thingy, I thought that anyone born/living north of the old Danelaw boundary was 'proper' northern. But i didn't take america into account there...

But then, maybe she meant 'I' was, since 'I' have been to all the northern meets except the Spring Onion...

Northern credentials : half-Yorkshire, born in Chester, grew up in Scunthorpe, working in Manchester, been to all the Northern meets.
Maybe you'll make it along to the next one when we get around to organising one
