Had a great day, love. Played golf, beautiful weather, to hell with the work, that can wait
England play tomorrow morning (our time) and if they should WIN..well, things will take off
America are also through to the quarter finals, is there much interest over there?
And..is your home still an e-mail free zone ??

Actually my home is still a "computer free zone"! (havn't waggled the ram yet, probably will give it a go tonight..., gee, do you think I can count that as a '"date"? )
Glad to hear you are out enjoying yourself luv! You know what they say... all work and no play makes Lurcher a dull boy!

You go careful, waggling that Ram.. They can get quite horny.
Just slippin` off for something to eat, hope to catch you later..

Hi sweetie! Just making sure you're alright and still in there "putting"!
Am trying to get all of the art files backed up onto CD's to send to WD-40, along with all of the hardcopy artwork that they want. This is my last week as a temp for them, so I've gotta get movin'!
Home computer is still c**p!
Love ya lots,
Michele

Now, come on Michele, you`ve GOT to get something sorted, PC-wise, at home
How else, next week, are we going to be able to keep in touch ?
Good luck with your efforts to get everything sorted, before you leave...

Big wet sticky for you dear!
Yes, the home computer bit is annoying as hell. Now my daughter and my mom are suffering from email withdrawal also!
What have you been up to? I keep waiting for you to get online, but I always seem to miss you! You need to start posting on some of your old threads again dear. It's hard to keep up a conversation when i'm the only one there...

Lurcher Posted Jun 26, 2002
You are, as ever, right luv (extremely wet and sticky, stickier even than yours..so there)
The thing is, my brain cells appear to be diminishing at an alarming rate. My long-term memory is pathetic..Mid-term even worse..and Short-term, well, what was I saying??
The net result is the frozen finger syndrome,ie no idea of what to say or where to say it. Completely bamboozled by the cut and thrust, and wit of the various threads. So, I lurk a bit, in the hope that I will regain some semblance of any conversational proficiency I may once have had
NOW, WAKE UP MICHELE!!!
See what I mean love..I`ve lost it..gone..
On the other hand, it might just be that I genuinely haven`t had much to say, it can happen sometimes, when I`m not 100% with it.
However, dragging myself back to reality, I shall endevour to visit and post on more threads than I have be doing.
All of which brings me back to the question of PC withdrawal symptoms.
Are you still in with a chance of acquiring the equipment from the office ?
Are you still on-line?
Is that the sun or the moon up there?
If I say you have a beautiful body will you hold it against me?
Why are there men in white coats outside?

I have no idea what you're talking about when you say you are lacking in converstional proficiency. You are still (even on your worst days) one of the wittiest and creative people on h2g2! And as always - a delight to have around. I miss you terribly when you duck out for awhile! I don't thinkt that you realize that several people enjoy talking to you. When you step out for a bit the threads just dry up!
Update: Yes, I purchased my equipment here at work. My old boss said that I could leave it here and work out of this office until he sells the company, which might be in a month or two. But that will save me the cost of carting all if this (heavy) stuff home and paying to have a new phone line and internet connection rigged up for a few more weeks. WD-40 wants to talk to me next week about several more projects they want me to do for them in the next couple of months. And I have another company that has already given me several projects to do in the next two weeks.
You will be able to reach me at my work email address for the next couple of months. And I hope to have a computer at home also soon...
love ya!
Michele

I am suitably admonished, luv, (now there`s a good word, admonished. no other word would work as well, would it?) But I digress..I thank you for you reassurance, and will use it to boost my often flagging self esteem. Bless you.
I am delighted that there are positive signs of progress. You are a caring person who makes light of personal problems, so you deserve some reward along the way, and a healthy slice of luck to go with it.
Here`s to ya sweetheart (If only you could have heard my James Cagney voice then..sort of a cross between Dolly Parton and Fred Astaire )
I shall make a point of buying a few more cans of WD40 as a thankyou for their showing good taste in putting work your way
And another thing, do you realise how long it takes me to produce these masterpieces of literary excellence?
By the time I finish this, it will probably be supper time in Kansas

Right on time dear! Supper time it is!
Actually - I have to leave a bit early to pick Caitlin up from the current week's activities. (I have her in photography and cooking this week, 8:00 to 5:30 every day ) Then she's back sitting around the house next week, then three weeks of math (9:00 - 12:00 every morning).
And what I meant to say above was that my old boss said I could stay here until he sells the "building". He's already sold the company... (typing too fast again!)
Off for the evening luv, talk to you again tomorrow!

*steps in, opens the windows (it's a lovely evening outside) Dusts everything off, takes the curtains down and shakes them out outside, hangs them back up again. Re-stocks the fridge with McLurchers, plumps up the pillows, turns the lights on low and puts some soft background music on. Waits for her friend to come back from his long trek through the forest. <smiley*

*Notices how nice the place looks, checks the fridge, knows who`s called in..*
You`re not on-line at the moment, love, still fast asleep no doubt
Hope to catch you later!

Was it just my imagination - or did you actually pop in for a bit and then disappear again? You know that's not allowed without at least a or a !!!
*settles down on the sofa for a bit of nap, dreams of running through the woods with Lurcher - both in wolf form of course!*

`Lo Michele...I did sort of pop in and out again...and can`t work out what hours you are keeping!
Hope you are recovering from the dreaded infection
I`ll keep *popping in and out* `til I catch up with you!
