Yeah, thanks.

Your wish, my command.
Taxi!!!!
(See you Monday, all - take it easy...)
Yeah, thanks.
7rob7: Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth) Posted Oct 5, 2001
Is this the part where someone who's read far too much about astrology points out that Mercury went retrograde on Monday? It will be coincidental to see if anyone suffers any more communication breakdowns than usual over the next six weeks.
-7keeps-an-open-mind-about-everything-in-spite-of-the-breeze7
Yeah, thanks.
a girl called Ben Posted Oct 5, 2001
I never know whether to prefer Mercury to be retrograde or going forwards.
This time it is retrograde in Mars, which is really bad for Aries lambs like me.
On the other hand, I will never forget the time it came OUT of retrograde, and my husband suddenly felt able to communicate again. He communicated the fact he wanted a divorce.
I spent an awful lot of this week horizontal with migraine, so not much communication there.
Ben
Yeah, thanks.
DoctorGonzo Posted Oct 5, 2001
Oh, come on - surely you don't believe in all that. 1 in every 12 people have the same day? Share the same traits?
What star sign is the cynic?
Yeah, thanks.
a girl called Ben Posted Oct 5, 2001
Only to the same degree as I beleive in the weather forecast...
Mainly wet with sunny intervals
Sunshine and showers
Sunny with occasional rain
Yeah
Right
But personality wise - I am an Aries through and through...
*amazingly chuffed that we are the only star-sign with our own smiley*
Yeah, thanks.
Lentilla (Keeper of Non-Sequiturs) Posted Oct 6, 2001
Ah, but no half-goat snakey-tailed smilies for us Capricorns. Heck, I'd even settle for a goat head - but then somebody might think I was feeling satanic.
I will say that astrology only works when you're talking about personalities. I've noticed that certain astrological signs work best with each other - Capricorns and Virgos get along well, as do Capricorns and Libras. I do not get along well with Geminis, however!
Are the stars out tonight?

(?? Is this the fabled 'topic drift'?? or is this more 'topic tsunami'???)
Lentilla, I'm crushed. (Mina, too, probably.) Early in my 'career', my mentor - and the greatest set designer no one's ever heard of - was (still is, in fact) a Capricorn. He and I get along wonderfully despite the fact that the great doomed love of his life was also a Gemini; something he's never held against me. (When you add in the 'fact' that I was also born in the Year of the Snake - which is very Gemini in its 'personality' - that's when you get to the point where women swoon and grown men bite their lips.)
Why settle for one face when you can have two?
[To drift from the drift: this new album by Garbage ROCKS!!!!! Yowza!]
-rob, who just got Appleworks 6.1 today & can't wait to play with it...

Hmm... I suspect that there's an exception to every rule! I only know a few Geminis - my sample isn't really large enough to base a theory on. So I'm adding more data to this astrology personality thingy... almost scientific, huh?
Her teeth were like stars...
...they came out at night.

GTBacchus Posted Oct 6, 2001
Lentilla a Capricorn? I'm a Capricorn! I find that I get along best with (hi Ben!), Cancer, and occasional Aquarians. (Occasional Aquarians - best kind) Scorpios are fun, but leave scars. Ow...
(pisces) I trust implicitly. I fear. (hmmm... Mom's a ; Dad was a ! Sigmund?)
I don't know anything about (gemini), Virgo, Libra or Taurus. I get them mixed up. They must not be pathological enough to show up on my radar. The poor dears.
Undecided on Saggitarius. I think I like 'em, but they're not really my type.
Oh, and I don't believe in atrology. Not one bit. Also, the full effect is a myth. There've been studies. The more interesting effect is that so many otherwise rational people believe in the full moon effect. And astrology. And studies. (We Capricorns are such skeptics! Dr. Gonzo, you a Cap?)
Nice Trout Fishing quote, BTW
Nice Topic Drift, BTW
hmmm... you recommend Virgos and Libras... I'll have to give 'em a try.

I'm not really here Posted Oct 6, 2001
Astrology does tend to work for personalities, but not compatability. I'm with a Virgo, can you imagine? Especially with out ruling planet wandering off backwards around the galaxy. The experts say we don't get on, but we do.
Hard aport to starboard!
7rob7: Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth) Posted Oct 6, 2001
Oooo - 'charlatan' is such an easy word, innit? *I* think most 'experts' of 'Western' (aka: 'do you have enough money for me to treat you?') medicine are 'charlatans' in that they can only be bothered with treating the symptoms rather than the causes as long as it doesn't interfere with their golf game . It will aways be the case that one someone's expert is another someone's charlatan/guru/cult leader. "Sexy Sadie, you'll get yours yet..."
According to this very cool calendar I've got of 'Forgotten English': Boadicea, Queen of the Britons during Nero's reign, was a practioner of 'Theriomancy' - a Druid divination system based on analyzing the movements of 'wild animals' (evidently 'tame' animals would probably be biased in favor of their human friends...) And just look at where that's got Britian to today. (All that Earl Grey has had summat to do with it too, I bet...)
Hang on, everyone - I've got a crowbar and I know how to use it! Part of your seat may be used as a flotation device!
The real reason I dropped in to see what condition my condition was in was to announce to anyone who doesn't know (Neptunians, maybe) that agcBen's 'Warm and Fuzzy' version of the Arbiter Proposal (condensed) has been posted at:
http://bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A641053
with minimal interference wrought by myself and a - to me - very nifty bit of HTML linking that Tube figured out for us. Every day, in every way, it looks more and more like we know what we're doing.
(You remember the Arbiter Proposal? - that toothy and wordy opus that some expect to wind up mewling and puking at its mother's breast pretty soon?)
Oh well; I guess it's time for me to take off the cool pointy hat with all the stars and cresent moons on it and start passing out torches and pitchforks again.
-77, who's just found out the correct pronunciation of 'Samhain' (I am soooo embarrassed!)
Hard aport to starboard!

Man! That's wierd - I get the BBC Homepage when I check the above link!
I'll be right back.
