I do love a bit of 'dark Doctor'. I don't think it was so much that the Doctor is around when people die, rather that people give their lives up for the Doctor, and will even kill others for the Doctor. Examples: did Jenny deserve to die any more than the Doctor when she threw herself in front of a bullet? (OK, she survived, but I think I saw her in the montage anyway.) Or the way that Martha was prepared to destroy the entire Earth. That was not what the Doctor wanted, yet he was (partly) responsible for making her that way.
But if we're talking 'dark Doctor', this whole episode was informed by Davros' previous meeting with the (seventh) Doctor, when the Doctor deliberately made Davros into a weapon to destroy Skaro. That puts a really different spin on Davros, the Doctor and the episode. It was really important throughout the Seventh Doctor books.

PS: Pat yourself on the back if you can accurately translate 'Ka Faraq Gatri'.

'Starbuck? Babe? Reefgirl, you demonstrate once again that women have no taste'
Having never watched the show properly I can't really comment

I think Starbuck looks quite good. Though not for me personality wise.

However I would be astonished if anyone had seen the new BSG and didn't think that Starbuck being a lass worked.
It is such a great show, and the dynamic between Starbuck, Appollo and Husker is one of the key bits in the show....
Dr Who.
Xanatic Posted Jul 10, 2008
They could have done without that love triangle though. Who is Husker anyway?
Dr Who.
Ferrettbadger. The Renegade Master Posted Jul 10, 2008
Admiral Adama!
The dynamic between Starbuck and Adama (senior) is down to their relationship from being the lover (ultimately responsible the death of) Apollos kid brother.
It just would not have worked else, and I for one am all for it.

Tom baker might be back?!?!?! Sounds interesting. Wonder if he'll bring his scarf.

According to that article, the Cybermen will appear in all the specials next year, not just the Christmas one this year. Or is it just the way it's phrased?
Did we ever find out what happened to the bees?

Some of the bees are aliens (?) and left the earth because they could sense what was about to happen. Or something like that. It was mentioned while they were at/with the Shadow Proclamation.

Tom baker as the Master!?!?!? That'd be interesting. Quite a dilema for the Doc. He'd think he was meeting his earlier self.
Dr Who.
Kaz Posted Jul 12, 2008
Good point.
Anyway, they'd be messing with our heads too. I always think of Tom Baker as the Doc, with his groovy hat and scarf. It would be too weird, seeing him as the master
Dr Who.
NPY Posted Jul 12, 2008
Would be, wouldn't it. Though would be fun to see him again.
Hard to believe Tom Baker used to be a monk!!
