The Torchwood mini series, Children of Earth, has been quite good.
The Harkness Buttock Watch Collective would have got a eyeful last night....

Just a bit of an eyeful! Too much a couple of times too. Some things we'd rather not see.

Well that's entirely your preogative! Nothing beats a bit of good old fashioned modesty though.

I did notice that Jack's clothes don't seem to be regenerating quite as they did onboard the Dalek mothership in Stolen Earth...
I have to say as well I like the sleek sophisticated look of the intro title sequence. Very iPod.

Do we really need to see so much of John Barrowman's arse? Is it written into his contract or something? I must say I've seen better.
Anyway, this series is better than the others, more action, less soap. Although it is nice to know Ianto has family

I have a vague recollection of them re-runing it later on in the year... sorta October-December time... might just be me though

During the TV review section of his radio program, Simon Mayo commented that he may now have seen a bit too much of John Barrowman. After last night's episode, I have now definitely seen too much of John Barrowman: i.e. ALL OF HIM! The brief full-frontal shot in the security camera was a definite eyefull.

The glass thank thing filled with poison did look like the glass tank in which the hemavore killed fenric, in the curse of fenric

one net speculator reckons it might be the Ambassadors of Death - but I doubt it somehow. Fairly tenuous at the moment.

RTD said he has wanted to do a 'first contact' story for a while, and ultimately decided it would work better in Torchwood than Who. Don't know if that helps, but it's certainly a clue of some sort.

NPY Posted Jul 8, 2009
But it's not really a first contact if the aliens have been to earth before. Though I suppose if we haven't met them yet, it's still a kind of first contact.

I think it would be really cool, but unlikely, for the return of a monster from old Who, that hasn't been in new Who yet...

Watching the first Torchwood on iPlayer and my favourite line so far is Gwen, on the phone to Rhys,
'Oh God, the Severn Bridge. I'm going into England, farewell forever.'
'Have you got currency?'
'Yes and I've had my injections'
Still making me laugh that is. I love the Welsh.

IctoanAWEWawi Posted Jul 8, 2009
yes, I laughed at that. Some good one liners (although nothing to beat the season 1, ep 1 'CSI:Cardif low flying kebabd' one
Bizarrly there was a Rob Brydon proggy on BBC4 or something at the same time where he rediscovered his welshness and feelings for his mother country and then asked if he still had to pay at the bridge

God, episode one of Torchwood is ruddy amazing! They reveal so much about Jack and Ianto's back stories in it. I won't ruin it for anyone, I'll just say go and watch it, it's very, very good. And, also, really funny in places! Very impressed with Day One, can't wait to watch the rest when they're out.

I'm not a fan of this episode-a-day format though.
Went out with friends (yes, I have friends) last night, so had to race back from work to catch Ep 2 on iPlayer tonight in time to only miss the first 5 mins of Ep 3.
