Mol - on the new tablet Posted Oct 30, 2008
This time last week and and me were watching him in Hamlet. And having seen that, I'm not so very surprised about yesterday's announcement.
But I'm still devastated. And inconsolable.
Quite apart from anything else, I thought the reason we're only getting a handful of episodes in 2009 was to release DT for other work *so that he'd come back for a full season afterwards*. If he's going when RTD goes anyway, he might as well have gone in the middle of a 13-part season and then we could have had our cake and eaten it, so to speak.

Sorry Taff ... unless you were in Stratford last Thursday ... that was a reply to Van.

Can I just say a big thank you to whoever decided to take six Doctor Who videos to the hospice charity shop this week! (Actually, there were nine but I already had two of them and one was McCoy who gives me the creeps!) Thanks to you I have now finally seen Weng-Chiang, yay me.

Isn't that sweet! I've recently found six videos at a used shop, stuff that's not out on DVD yet, and another 20 of the old Target novelizations. I'll finally get to see "Image of Fendahl" and "The Deadly Assassin".

I'm sure there's some business opportunity out there for someone with all the old VHS tapes that everybody gives to charity shops, or tries to flog at carboot sales. I'm just not sure what it is ...

Some of the Baker (T) ones are selling for $50- $100 each over here. There are a couple I actually wouldn't mind paying that much for. It's just that I know with my luck, that the day after I do, the same one will be released on DVD for about $20.

I was amazed to see 'the War Games' on the net for £30. I've been trying to convince my bro that we should sell our collection before it's all out on dvd. Some of the original target books are worth a lot now too.
Talking of bro, he sent me this text yesterday morning:
"The media world is in uproar today over offensive phone calls made by two of the BBC's most prominent figures. Messages were left on the answerphone of Peter Davison, in which Russell T Davies can clearly be heard to claim that David Tennant has screwed the former Doctor's daughter. Tennant has announced his resignation from hit tv show Dr Who as a result."

I decided the other day that if I could go back in time I would buy all the Target books I could lay my hands on before the show was recommisioned!
I am quite sad.

Did anyone catch Tom Baker on Have I Got News For New last night? Very funny.

Do they re-run HIGNFY in any format on the 'net that might be available for viewing outside of the US?
Eloisa- I've hinted to the owner of the record shop where I found these two big batches of Target books recently (a friend) that if any more come in to let me have first crack at them before putting them into inventory. Now everyone knows what a sad I am.

Argh! Obviously when I asked about availability of HIGNFY, I meant is it available to viewers outside the UK. I'm *in* the US. Must get coffee.

They just don't learn do they? Jonathan Ross gets suspended last week for his comments to Andrew Sachs and now Dunceton pops up at the end of the Sarah Jane Adventures and suggests that Holly shave her badger! On Childrens BBC too!

I´ve seen Sean Pertwee in a few things, he could be a decent choice.

Someone on another (commercial) site this week was wondering with the last episode of SJA being called the 'mark of the Berserker' and the new girl being 'Rani' could there be a plot developing?
Dr Who
Bright Blue Shorts Posted Nov 13, 2008
I do hope not. I'd much prefer to see the spinoffs left as their own series without any bringing back of characters into the main series.

Yeah, Sean Pertwee could be quite a good choice. Family connection and all that.
